24.01.2022 This evenings class is set to be a special one. Olga Kotnowska (@osiakot) is taking the reigns to facilitate an experimental session that encourages heavy exploration of process, materiality and the utilisation of music as a guide. If you find it hard to depart from traditional or technical methods of drawing/making, this class is for you. If you want to push your line or process to another level, this class is for you. If youre interested in seeing what happens when youre forced to give up the notion of control, this class is for you. Olga is in her final year of studying Art Therapy and is an incredibly intuitive and passionate facilitator. Well be using new materials, and working with one of our most experienced models. 22.01.2022 We're very excited to be running our first technical life drawing workshop with the very talented Melanie Padilla tomorrow evening (Tuesday 30th of Jan) at Second Space Projects. Mel has a BFA from the Pratt Institute, exhibiting in Melbourne and New York, with 10 years life drawing experience, and has been working as a professional illustrator for the past 5 years. The class will focus on anatomy, structure, and basic technical drawing techniques and ideas. This class aims to give students the necessary skills that will allow them to take their expanded drawing techniques further. Drop in or book a spot online at www.continuousline.com.au. 21.01.2022 Our one year anniversary party is on this Saturday December the 16th. We'll have 3 models posing in the same session, a live DJ, gourmet food and the launch of our one year retrospective publication. To purchase tickets, please email [email protected]. 20.01.2022 The time has come! Thank you to our friends at the Brunswick Street Gallery for giving us a place to call home for the past 10 months. Classes are growing and so are we. 15.01.2022 Since Continuous Line began in 2016, weve been committed to providing an experience that pushes through a traditional life drawing format, and instead focuses on implementing techniques that embrace risk taking and intuitive mark making. This evening we are trialing a new way of running the class. Our model is not a professional life model. She will be fully clothed, and at the commencement of the class, she will address the audience for a few brief minutes. She has lived w...hat most people would consider to be a very interesting (and challenging) life, and naturally, she carries that energy with her. She adores her two dogs and has travelled around Australia with them (both of whom will be in attendance). We are trialing what it feels like to move away from the traditional figure, and instead focus on the person. We are interested to see how the artists work is informed when they are given the opportunity to see beyond the anatomy, and how an emotional engagement with the subject will bring a new depth to the drawings. This class endeavours to push boundaries. This requires experimental phases. We hope that youll join us this evening to see how it all unfolds.
