18.01.2022 5 MYTHS ABOUT TREE CUTTING! Trimming is very important part of tree maintenance and care. It directly affects the health, longevity and the ability of tree to resist storm harm, Sorry to say, this type of maintenance process is often misinterpreted as of the myths which cloud its actual value. Here are some myths: Myth #1. Trees will develop just fine even without trimming process.... It is correct that forest plants perfectly develop with own natural way of trimming. But in most suburban yards the trees have different requirements. Most of the suburban trees want some type of pruning to maintain and keep their shape and to remove fast-developing water buds. When deciding about tree lopping, remember that you should never eliminate excess part of tree in just one trimming. Myth #2. Cutting very close to the trunk will assist the tree to quickly heal. Trees do not really heal, indicating they cannot restore lost or damaged tissue. They can just cover their sores by developing new woods layers. At the time trimming, keep away from pruning very close to the parent limb of tree and retain the collar of branch. Myth #3. Trimming wounds that are over three inches have to be coated with wound covering. Tree wound sealants or dressings are products based on petroleum which are usually used to freshly seal cut wood and avoid insect infestation or decay. On the other hand, reports show that utilizing wound dressing, seals in dampness, causes rot slow down compartmentalization and ultimately causes cracks which may rendering the tree to pathogens. Also, it decreases the creation of new woods layers. Myth #4. Trim back the crown of tree to recompense for root loss throughout transplanting. It is not a wonderful idea to trim trees after the process of transplanting apart from when there is a requirement to remove broken or dead branches. The younger trees crown must not be trimmed back to frame for the misplaced roots. Negligible trimming is required throughout the starting time of tree planting. Myth #5. Trimming certain trees species prior in the spring will source bleeding that may lead to health and stress problems. It is correct that some trees like birches and maples that bleed from cuts done prior in the spring. On the other hand, this bleeding does not stress or hurt the trees. It often happens when a tree drops its sap that is quite minor in the general trees health. With few exceptions, you can anytime trim trees. But the most suitable time to do it is during the dormancy of tree or later than the period of flowering. The nastiest time of pruning time is when the tree has just leafed and you should avoid this time.

Trees... flourish in the forest without maintenance, so they dont need it in my front yard either! Urban trees are required to contend with many negative influences not encountered by forest trees: limited rooting areas, confined spaces, pollution, soil compaction, asphalt and concrete over roots, etc. Besides, an occasional dead tree in the forest is not noticed among the many, but the loss of one significant landscape tree can be devastating to your home.
