25.01.2022 Exploding like an almost alien spaceship is the One Thousand Museum tower by Zaha Hadid Architects in Miami. This beautiful photo #reposted from Lemon Yellow Studio. This luxurious building in Downtown Miami is the result of architect Zaha Hadid (vale) together with developers Louis Birdman (birdman_brd) and Gregg Colvin. Built with a concrete exoskeleton this building has 62 stories and integrates structural support with lateral bracing while embracing the beauty of curve i...n design. The structure is almost like a modern beehive with almost whale like gills giving the building an appearance of breathing through the cityscape. The design expresses a fluidity that is both structural and architectural, said Zaha Hadid Architects’ project director Chris Lepine. 25.01.2022 The @Kistefoss Museum known as The Twist is located in the Kistefoss Sculpture Park an hour out of Oslo. The magnificent design is by world renowned architects Bjarke Ingels Group (@Big_Builds) and was launched in September 2019. The newly designed museum is a beautiful example of how design can be sympathetic the environment. Materials used in the build included brushed stainless steel, while the glazing consists of large insulated glass panels that reflective UV and keep o...ut art-damaging light. The curves of the building complement the river the building sits beside whilst joining the two buildings to create a truly stunning interior and exterior. 21.01.2022 Set in a vineyard to the backdrop of the sunburnt mountains of South Africa and undulating across the skyline is the stunning #BosjesChapel. Designed by South-African born Coetzee Steyn of London based Steyn Studio the design took inspiration from Psalm 36:7. Looking more like a sculpture than a building the form emulates the silhouette of the surrounding mountain ranges whilst referencing the historic Cape Dutch gables that dot the rural landscapes of the Western Cape. The ...roof supports itself with each wave falling to the ground. Constructed from a slim concrete cast shell, the roof rises to a peak with perfect symmetry a feature. Moving away from the traditional steeple cross a crucifix adorns the façade calling all to prayer. It’s a building of biblical proportions that appears to float across the valley. Perhaps referencing walking on water, the chapel rises from the flat land with a path that floats to the entrance. The vineyard is complemented by a pomegranate orchid in a kind of Garden of Eden. Inside is a large and open space perfect for assembly. The white palette is further enhanced by the whitewashed ceilings and highly polished terrazzo floors that reflect light internally. The building was Inspired by the simplicity of the Moravian Mission Stations established on Cape Dutch farms in the 19th Century. 04.01.2022 The world could do with more places of peace. One such place to retreat to is the Meditation Space @UNESCO in Paris. Designed and built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of UNESCO this beautiful space embodies our design aesthetic whilst taking into consideration its environment. Tadao Ando and associates conceptualised this space. The design brief required a transformation of the garden which was in disrepair and to create a place of prayer and meditation. @Tadao_Ando_Ar...chitecture have created a truly beautiful, peaceful space. The Meditation Garden as a whole is composed of simple elements: two walls to separate the site from the surrounding environment; a terraced pool extending over the entire site and a cylindrical prayer space floating on the pool with a ramp providing access to the space. There are no doors, windows or finishes and the space consists only of light and exposed concrete. The bottom of the pool is laid with stones exposed to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima that were donated to the city.
