25.01.2022 I've recently posted the immigrant lists for the five Conway voyages to Australia. Your ancestors may have come on the Conway to Melbourne in 1854 or 1858, to Hobart Town in 1855, to Sydney in 1856 or to Brisbane (Moreton Bay) in 1862. I've also posted the diaries from the voyages in 1854 and 1858. Let me know if you find your ancestors on any of these Conway voyages. www.theconway.squarespace.com

22.01.2022 I received the most encouraging email. The more I read your book, the more I understand how perfect the title is. 'My Cathedral in the Sea"..........I just love it. The research you have undertaken is such a gift to the multitude of people searching their family story, and trying to understand why so many journeyed to Australia. I cannot image leaving my country of birth with the prospect of never returning. Tracey Willet, Museum Curator, Perth, W.A. You don't need many emails like this to make you feel the journey was so worthwhile.

17.01.2022 I have just received a note from Don Fox who did a blog on the "Conway" several years ago. Don wrote: "For the last couple of hours I have been perusing the tome and have been repeatedly struck by its quality - of photographs, of information sources, of bookmanship. You have truly done the world of clipper ship interest a great service. I am impressed." It's always encouraging to read feedback like this.

12.01.2022 I've added some further information under Extra Resources and continue to offer free postage within Australia. The diary of James Grant on the voyage from Greenock in Scotland in 1854 is now on line. Also some of the crew lists and captain's logs for the 1856 and 1858 voyages.

11.01.2022 I had a great text today from one of my first book purchasers: "What a great read thus far. I find your style easy to read which can be difficult in history books crammed with such an overwhelming amount of historical records. Well done!" Thanks Paul...

07.01.2022 The last day of 2019 and what a year. I've just started to load some immigrant lists to my webpage at www.theconway.squarespace.com that includes all six lists available for voyages on the Conway - five to Australia and one to New York. Who knows what ancestral links there may be to so many families. Some 2000 immigrants came to Australia between 1854 and 1862 and over 400 to the U.S. in 1852. This is a considerable resource gleaned from sometimes undecipherable documents ...in various locations. Let me know if you find an ancestor in the lists. Better still help me find a picture for my so far futile search for that elusive ship's image. I was listening to a piece of music several days ago, "To seek and yet not find!" I thought it was written for me. Let me know how you find my book.. Better still find me a picture of the Conway! Enjoy the journey in 2020. Harley Stanton

04.01.2022 The Queensland Maritime Museum have just posted a video on their FB page in relation to my book. The video answers some questions people have asked as well as a read from one of the best passages from the book.
