23.01.2022 Hi all! No doubt by now you will have heard of Western Australia's fabulous new container deposit scheme, called Containers for Change WA, but did you know you can easily support your local community by dropping off eligible containers to the Coolbellup Community School? The bins are located at the entrance to the school, behind the gate. When you drop off your eligible containers there 100% of funds go to the school.... Currently the school's P&C is madly fundraising to buy new playground equipment, to replace the equipment that has been removed due to it being a risk to sensitive little fingers. Your donation would help in their efforts to provide an important learning element that children need in order to develop skills and confidence. If you're interested in donating your eligible containers I've attached some information regarding Containers for Change in the images. Here's the website for Containers for Change - https://www.containersforchange.com.au/wa/how-it-works

13.01.2022 Every year, City of Cockburn provides up to $30,000 per resident group for a project. There are only certain things we can ask for in this bucket of money. For example, Roads/ buildings/ public toilets/ major infrastructure upgrades projects/ fenced dog exercise areas/ water playgrounds/ lakes/ waterbodies/ skate parks/ pump tracks e are not included as they cost significantly more than the allocated funds for this process. What we CAN ask for is listed below and is in the su...rvey it should take no more than two minutes to complete where you can rank your order of preference and add in any notes. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CoobyBudget2020 We will also have paper copies of this survey and information at our Cooby Stall at Cooby Fest 2020 on Saturday 28th November for you to cast your vote and add your ideas. We need to lodge the Budget Submission by 30th November 2020 OPTIONS: -Playground Shade sails -Playground improvements (if additional equipment will require extensions to the play pit border and additional soft fall material you will need to consider this as part of your submission as it will impact the cost of the project) -New footpaths linking other footpaths Verge/median landscaping -Small art projects (e.g. murals) -Other small community projects (e.g. parklets) -Park Improvements o Solar lighting along footpaths (consider length and proximity to adjacent houses) o Trees in parks o Barbecues (Assess if there is a shelter, drinking fountain, seating, etc. already in the park as these are essential infrastructure to support a BBQ. If a park doesn’t have these elements then you will need to consider the cost of these items in your submission) o Shelter, Tables, Seating, bins (Considering accessibility issues) o Exercise equipment o Half-Court Basketball Courts (consider park size and location on park) o Sporting infrastructure (liaise with Recreation Services Department prior to submission) o Park/Reserve Signage (name of park )
