Make sure they not only apply SPF 30+ sunscreen and a hat, but also wear Sunnies that protect from UV.

06.01.2022 With the weather really heating up, we remind everyone to protect themselves against the Sun, especially between 10am and 4pm when the U.V. levels are at their highest. If you do go out in the Sun please ensure you use Sunblock of AT LEAST SPF 30, put a hat on with a broad brim, wear U.V. protective sunnies and stay in the shade as much as possible.

However, predicting if someone is likely to get skin cancer remains difficult. In a new study, Scientists from two universities in America have developed a more precise model in assessing risk by studying genetic factors such as family history, ethnicity and genetic variations unique to each individual. It is available in the December 2012 issue of the journal G...ENETICS. (www.genetics.org) This new model should prove useful as a tool to help us educate those more at risk of skin cancer.
