22.01.2022 The benefits of the new online world are being explored in Stage 3 today via Zoom with NASA Scientist (and Aussie), Dr Adrian Brown. Travelling at more than 50,000km per hour the Mars 2020 is currently hurtling toward the red planet with the most ambitious robotic explorer to date, Perseverance. When it arrives on 18 February 2021, it must survive 7 minutes of terror as it enters Mars thin atmosphere before being lowered by a sky crane to the cold apparently desolate surface. It will then begin to search for answers to the greatest question of allare we alone?

21.01.2022 Pass it on: #EdWeek20 is only 3 weeks away! Celebrate the amazing work of NSW public school students, staff, parents and carers learning together this year. More info: https://bit.ly/2Dt3U1R *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

15.01.2022 We have the same protocols for the uniform shop as the last few weeks of Term 1: 1. All orders through Flexischools and delivering to office each Thursday. 2. One or two volunteers in the shop each Thursday to fulfil orders (adhering to social distancing). 3. No orders or second hand items through the shopfront.... Please be aware that due to COVID-19, we are having some supply issues, so there will be certain items out of stock. Also, our change over to winter uniform starts on Monday 11 May.

15.01.2022 We are over halfway through the first week of Phase 1 and it has been so lovely to see so many students returning to school on their allocated day, we have missed them! For Week 4, we will move into the second week of Phase 1. The same staggered return to school plan will be in place, with students divided across the days by House groups. We are still requiring parents to register attendance for those who are attending outside their allocated day through www.carebookings.com.au with the code DRRDG. Week 4 is now open for registration. Please do not book your child in for their allocated House day. If you are having difficulty with the site, we recommend you try an alternative device and/or browser. Please see the updated plan for learning in Week 4 below. You may like to save this for later viewing.

14.01.2022 Our Year 6 students received their jerseys today and they look wonderful! Thank you to Susan S and our Year 6 staff for their organisation.

This is a fun dress up activity organised by the SRC to raise awareness of the importance of being active and participating in sport and games on a regular basis, even though our regular sports programs and carnival events are on hold due COVID restrictions. We are looking forward to seeing a wide variety of sports represented tomorrow!

You can attend this from the comfort of your own home. Please register your interest prior at https://drkristygoodwin.com/webinar-cps/. 08.01.2022 Barnardos Reverse Xmas Tree has been a part of the Coogee Public School calendar for over 10 years. Giving to the appeal is voluntary and our community has always been very generous in extending the Christmas spirit to include children and families experiencing loss and struggle in their lives. In 2020, whilst we can't have our usual assembly we can still continue the tradition by donating a present or dollar amount to the CPS Barnardos Xmas Appeal using the link provided. The gifts donated on this site will then be distributed to families in time for Christmas. Thank you to our Coogee Public School Community for your kindness and generosity. https://www.simplygiving.com.au/CoogeePS

05.01.2022 Good morning Parents and Carers One of our SLSO staff members (Rebecca) shared this with us today. Its a great message from Dr Zeuss related to these strange times of teaching and learning during COVID-19 days. Please note though we wont be teaching through Zoom! .... Google Classroom will still be our Remote Learning Platform! The important message though, is that we will always be here for your children and their needs are our priority. Teachers will be checking in with... their students via phone and the google classroom regularly. Please take care and stay safe. Try not to worry if your child cant do everything that has been set for their remote learning daily tasks. At CPS we are all still learning about this new way teach our students and make sure that they continue to be engaged in their learning and connected with their teachers and classmates. We will continue to make necessary tweaks and changes to the online learning programs as required, as we become more familiar with this way of working with our students. Contact your childs teacher if you are concerned though. See more
