25.01.2022 Ahhhh.... it’s been a while since we posted any Coogee climbing photos... let’s fix that right away.... !!! Check out these family photos of our multi-pitch adventures at Boars Head and Malatia Wall !!!

24.01.2022 Once we got the OK from region to start using the hall again, we used this opportunity to do a much needed deep clean and sanitisation of the rover den .

24.01.2022 Last weekend, a few of our rovers spent it down at Kangaroo Valley doing some capsizing, swimming, flipping boats back over, capsizing again, swimming because we can’t be bothered to flip the boat back over, and then capsizing all the boats... oh and we guess there was some canoeing involved. Check out pics from the weekend!

23.01.2022 A few weekends ago, Coogee Rovers got wet and wild doing Lower Bowens Creek North Canyon and Grand Canyon. Highlights of the weekend included tree soot, cicadas, glamour shots, lots of swimming, singing the spongebob squarepants theme song, and heating up day old maccas with a portable stove. Check out our specially curated, hand picked, glamorous photo shoot from the weekend!

21.01.2022 All jokes aside, please do follow this hand washing technique to stay safe and hygienic.

20.01.2022 Isolation doesn’t stop Coogee Rovers from making sure our squires are adequately trained! Skills covered in our training session included navigation, ceremonies and policies, award scheme, promise and law, rover governance, a chat about some den projects, and a slightly chaotic attempt at learning some knots and lashes.

19.01.2022 Last weekend 5 of our rovers attended the BPS/APS course held at Bundilla Scout camp. Daniel and Lauren attended the BPS, Grace attended the APS, and Jay and Miriam returned as mentors and presenters for both. We’re always excited to get more members in our crew trained as it means our crew will never run out of knowledgeable, skilled and experienced leaders .

19.01.2022 Last Monday night, Coogee Rovers hosted a successful vertical skills night for some Kingsford Smith Venturers. The vennies learnt new skills like how to safely abseil, how to prusik up a rope, rope care, outdoor safety and the joys of being a rover . Check out pictures from the night!

17.01.2022 With restrictions loosening up and outdoor activities approved, Coogee Rovers jumped at the opportunity to do what we do best: Canyoning. The trip was spent down in Dalpura Canyon in the Blue Mountains where typical Coogee Canyoning Crew shenanigans took place. It was cold and wet, but we were full of energy and excitement to be back outside and doing what we all loved. Check out photos of the trip below! ... Please note, the crew took extra precaution and care in adhering to outdoor activities guidelines and maintained those standards throughout the trip.

14.01.2022 For the duration of May, Coogee Rovers pulled their sleeves up, got down on the ground, and joined the push-up challenge to promote better mental health! The goal of the challenge was to complete 3,046 push ups in total. This number represents the amount of lives lost in Australia to Suicide in 2018. The challenge also helped demonstrate the strong correlation between exercise and mental health. If you follow our Facebook Page, you would know that Coogee Rovers loves to get... outside and to get their exercise, whether it’s from canyoning, hiking or rock climbing. So to join a movement that promotes physical AND mental fitness was a no brainer. Checkout some photos of some of our rovers pushing and sweating through the challenge!

13.01.2022 Due to the current pandemic, a lot of elderly residents who are confined to their homes are at a higher risk of developing mental health issues due to the loneliness that accompanies prolonged periods of extremely limited social interaction, and the increased levels of anxiety of being thrown into an isolated digital world. To combat this, a few of our Rovers have signed up for a Pen-sioner pal program that helps connect isolated elderly residents with others in their communities. Each of our rovers have been paired with an elderly resident and we’re all excited to hear the stories they have to share.

13.01.2022 Last Saturday two of our rovers, Sahara and Lauren, and one of our RA’s, Louis, attended the Mental Health First Aid Course which is run by our very own crew member Grace. Mental health awareness and erasing the stigma that can be attached to it is something that we’re very passionate about at Coogee, so getting as many of our rovers trained up to help respond to mental health emergencies and situations is something we’re always going to actively pursue.

13.01.2022 At the Annual Scouts Australia Adult Recognition Awards, two ex-crew members, Rose Stevens and Andrew Wallace, were awarded Special Service Awards in recognition for their success in supporting, developing and managing Narwee Venturers. Coogee Rovers is exceptionally proud to see ex- Coogee Rovers continuing to provide exceptional service to the Scouting community. Alongside them, a current Coogee member, Grace Laura Mitchell, was awarded a Rover Recognition Award for her dedication and passionate service to the Rover movement. A huge BRAVOOO to them!

07.01.2022 Last Sunday a few of our rovers spent the day up in the Blue Mountains practicing their navigation skills The day involved map reading, hiking, a lot more map reading, hiking again with slightly more confidence, and a cheeky trip down Better Offer Canyon. Check out pics from the day!

05.01.2022 Bob Ross: *starts painting a simple sunset sky* Coogee Rovers: oh easy we got this! Bob Ross: *pulls out palette knife* Now let’s starts painting the grey mountains ... Coogee rovers staring at the pencil tool on Microsoft paint: uh-oh...

02.01.2022 We know we’re all pretty bummed about not being at Dragon Skin right now. So we made something that’ll hopefully give you a chuckle during this long weekend. Here’s our long awaited Coogee Rovers Tag Yourself: Part 3!
