05.01.2022 Out with the old, in with the new. The Heart of Corangamite Network was developed in 2005 in response to research that identified cardiovascular disease as a ...critical health issue for people living in the Corangamite Shire. As a result of this, nutrition and physical activity became the focus of the network. 15 years later we’re evolving into ‘Healthy Well Corangamite’. We’re taking a more holistic approach to promoting health and wellbeing and will now focus on five key priority areas. These include: - Social and emotional wellbeing - Reducing the harmful impact of alcohol and other drug use - Improving physical health - Reducing family violence - Achieving optimal education outcomes for children and young people We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have worked with us over the past 15 years, and we’re excited to continue working with you to create a healthier Corangamite. If you’re particularly passionate about any of our five priority areas and want to get involved, please get in touch.

02.01.2022 Coronavirus update I wish to reassure everyone that Cooinda have an action plan in place and have provided information to staff and participants in relation to preventative measures to reduce the risk of contracting the virus. This includes regular hand washing, reducing contact with others, altered programs where a large amount of people will be in attendance and staying home if unwell. We will keep everyone up to date as to the current situation based on advice from health ...professionals and measures that we may take if we are impacted locally as the health and wellbeing of our staff and participants is our main priority . The Department of Health and Human Services has a number of resources on its website, which explain the virus, detail risk-reduction practices and behaviours, and answer frequently asked questions. These are available at www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus. See more
