25.01.2022 To protect remote communities from COVID-19, Kakadu National Park is closed to visitors and other non-essential travellers until 11.59 pm 18 June 2020. This closure is under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations. Cooinda Lodge will also remain closed to visitors until the 18th June 2020, however, are open to locals living within the area. This follows a statement from the Northern Territory Government that they will begin re-opening some parks ...from Noon on Friday 1 May. This decision does not apply to Commonwealth-owned parks, which are a matter for the Federal Government in consultation with traditional owners (Kakadu National Park). Thank you for your understanding. We hope to see you soon.

24.01.2022 Who else has lived in the NT all their lives and hasn’t been to Kakadu since your parents took you when you were like... 10 ...?? yep two guilty ri...ght here Luke Picken... So we made use of our Tourism NT vouchers and stayed at Cooinda Lodge Kakadu for the weekend - it was awesome!!! Great pool, great tours (thanks Dennis for your humour and knowledge on the @yellowwaterscruise), awesome place to chill for a few days - even in the wet season. The food was surprisingly good too On the way down we stopped off and did the Jumping Crocodile Cruise (Adelaide River Queen) tour and that was awesome - thanks to Tamara the local guide for a great hour in the water Disclaimer: (which all holiday FB posts should come with these days mind you so as to stop the, ‘oh hey there, here we are living the best life, it’s better than yours’ posts) All smiles and happy faces on camera here - but explorers beware - there were still whingy kids and sooky sad sacks at the best of times - just gotta take the good with the bad and you’ll be all Live.Laugh.Love (and sometimes yell ) peeps #dokakadu #kakadunationalpark

22.01.2022 Were so proud to have been able to show our gratitude to the #HealthcareHeroes that look after us all day-in and day-out, working even harder throughout the CO...VID-19 pandemic. Broadcast live on Sunrise, we surprised over 2,000 healthcare workers at St Vincents Hospital Sydney with a free night luxury stay at any one of our 360 hotels and resorts, as well as an Accor Plus membership, which brings additional exclusive food and beverage benefits. Not stopping there, we also said an extra special thank you, to a very deserving Amy Matthew, their Operational Nurse Unit Manager, awarding her a seven-night escape for her and her family to any Australian destination, including flights, accommodation and an Accor Plus membership. Were so proud to be able to give these Healthcare Heroes both the recognition and luxury break that they deserve. From all of us at Accor, we say thank you See more

13.01.2022 A visit to Kakadu National Park is not complete without a Yellow Waters Sunrise Cruise. Kakadu National Park is the largest National Park in Australia and is on... the UNESCO World Heritage List as it preserves the greatest variety of ecosystems on the continent. To experience a snippet of this, you should join the Yellow Waters Cruise which leaves from the Cooinda Lodge. I highly recommend doing it at sunrise. The highlight for me will always be seeing the ancient crocodiles in their natural habitat and if I was guiding myself, that is probably all I would notice. Thats the beauty of taking this tour. Our guide on this occasion was Dennis. He delivered a humourous, yet informative talk about the water systems we cruised along over the two hour tour. Dennis pointed out the various birds which flapped around us or rested along the waters banks. He told us about the fresh water mangroves, Pandanas and itching trees. He educated us on the fish that swam below us; even Barramundi, Barra-tuesdi, Barra-wedneday... Dennis also shared with us his indigenous culture and his experience with the land. The destruction that feral animals and plants were doing the the Kakadu ecosystems and his previous experiences as a Ranger combating these pests threatening the region. It was a good reminder that we humans need to keep repairing the mistakes of the past and fighting our focus on economic prosperity at the expense of the planet that sustains us, and everything else on it.
