20.01.2022 ATO sets up one-stop shop with COVID-19 info for business. The site (ato.gov.au/coronavirus) provides easy-to-understand and detailed information about what people need to know or do in order to get access to the tax or superannuation measures as announced by the government as part of its economic response to COVID-19. 15.01.2022 Dear friends, Hopefully it has been a good week and you feel you are able to stay on top of things. I have just sent an email with up to date information that may be relevant to you.... If you have not received the email or would like one sent please send me a message. The most popular topic the last 2 weeks has been the jobkeeper scheme. If you believe you are eligible you should have registered for the scheme and employees should have nominated their employer if they have been given this option. On Monday the ATO will be releasing information on how the jobkeeper system will be processed. The cash flow boosts will begin filtering through from the 28th for those businesses lodging BASs and paying wages. Some information was attached for accessing superannuation early. We will do our best to keep you updated but if you have any questions in the meantime please get in touch. The negative affect on small business, individuals, retirees, companies and so forth could be irreversible. 02.01.2022 Happy new financial year from all of us at Cook & Associates. We know that 2020 has been a challenging for many of you. Hopefully you have your financial matters under control by now, but as always you know where we are if needed. We have been fortunate that our office has not been closed during this period and we are all safe and well here.... With tax time now upon us we are happy to see clients face to face in our office or if you would prefer we can communicate via email, post or phone. If visiting our office we will be adhering to the SA government guidelines: - respect social distancing measures - utilise the hand sanitiser upon arrival - make appointments prior to arrival so we can keep a record of the number of people in our office - if you are unwell please call to reschedule your appointment. The ATO have advised us that we will need to be patient with lodgements and your updated information with the ATO due to the last few months and rapidly changing data being required from and to the tax office. We will do our best to be as prompt as possible but will also wait when necessary until the data matching with the ATO is correct to avoid any compliance issues down the track.
