24.01.2022 What do you aim for after a SPECTACULAR 125th Anniversary and postcode reinstatement?..... Something for the kids! Some years ago now the unwaivering efforts of previous dedicated Community Association members saw much wanted playground equipment erected at Cookernup Hall.... Over the years, some of us and even more of our children have played there, very happily and vigorously. Except... when the sun is at it's hottest in summer or the rain making it it's slipperiest (if that's even a word) in winter, or perhaps when out of action due to weather wear and tear on the rubbery ground surface It's well known that kids don't care how hot or cold it is and even as adults, we association members can recall ourselves being just as carefree regarding temperatures when it comes to frolicking and fun with neighbourhood friends. That's why we're currently trying to raise funds for a hard cover structure over the Cookernup Community Playground to protect the kids and the play equipment from the unrelenting seasonal elements. Protection of the equipment ensures a longer life span of it for our kids to enjoy longer and also provides a safer play environment all year round regardless of the weather. *No direct sunshine on the slide to burn tender tooshes when slid, or burn unweathered skin. *No wet slippery monkey bars, steps or swings to greatly increase the chance of injury. With Cookernup's 125 year Anniversary celebrations over and done with and original 6219 postcode kindly reininstated and also in hearing from Leo that the Shire may possibly replace the ground surface of the playground with artificial turf, a covering to protect the area has become the next big project of importance. We can't do this for the kids in our community on our own and we hope that you won't mind chipping in to help us achieve it for them. With your assistance we in the Cookernup Community Association will continue to do our best to address the needs presented within our magnificent community and we Thank YOU for helping us do it.

21.01.2022 Cookernup Community Association monthly meeting will be held at 7pm tonight at the Cookernup Community Hall.

21.01.2022 FYI Folks.... We have recently been contacted by Adam Niclair, Supervisor Parks Services who has advised us of work to be carried out at the Cookernup Hall Playground. The soft fall replacement at Cookernup Hall playground will commence on Thursday the 6th of August and is expected to be completed by Friday the 7th. ... A contractor has been engaged to dig out the old rubber and will be replacing it with washed white playground sand at 300mm deep. While these works are being carried out the playground will be closed and on the Thursday night will be barricaded off for safety reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to local kids while work is carried out but are sure they'll be more than happy with the end result. We Thank the Harvey Shire for acknowledging and addressing the badly detiorating soft fall surface we presently have.

12.01.2022 We've really appreciated getting feedback about the new sand play surface in the Cookernup Playground. We've also heard the grown-ups are enjoying it just as much as the kids are and we couldn't be happier. Thankyou so much for letting us know you're happy with the upgrade and for allowing us to share some pics.... Got some shots in the sand pit? We'd love to see some more <3
