While still open to day visitors, overnight campers are now required to camp within the area specified in the map below. This is in order to allow for the rehabilitation and restoration of the beach, the delicate coastal ecosystem, and the surrounds. This will ensure Archer Point will continue to be... enjoyed by all for years to come. 12.01.2022 CONGRATS To the Cooktown Underwater Hockey Club who recently sent its first team ever to the Far North Queensland Underwater Hockey Championship, hosted by Cairns Crays Underwater Hockey. Playing against strong Cairns and Townsville teams, with a large number of adult players, our local team (made up of mostly juniors) beat some very strong and established teams to come 7th. ... We can't wait to see these players and our local team continue to grow and develop!
