24.01.2022 Great work opportunity at Cooktown State School.

24.01.2022 CDCC is requesting donations for Christmas Food Hampers for families in need this year. The donation bin is located at Cornetts IGA. Last year 22 hampers were provided so if you can donate some groceries, it could make someones Christmas a bit brighter.

14.01.2022 Did you know that CDCC comes under the Neighbourhood Centre funding? Are you aware of what Neighbourhood Centres do across our Queensland communities? We could talk about the $4.08 of social value that goes back into communities from every $1 of state government funding. ... We could talk about the 250 tonnes of emergency food relief we provide worth $5.8 million in assistance. And we could talk about the 2,200 volunteers every week contributing 540,000 hours worth over $23 million each year. We could talk about all that because it’s all very important and all very true. We could talk about a warm welcome, community pride, a sense of belonging, leadership development, community voice through advocacy and increased personal independence. And we could talk about fostering resilience, about being embedded in communities, about local governance, and about local resourcing. Neighbourhood Centres are the beating heart of communities.
