23.01.2022 We found some vines in the garden today, and decided to weave baskets! Pretty fun and very relaxing...I think we'll do more next week!

22.01.2022 A little bit of rain = some water in our tank, and we're getting the garden up and running again! We've learned about pruning fruit trees, and mulching the plants so they don't need as much water. Here's hoping for more rain and lots of strawberries and apples!

21.01.2022 Dear Parents & Guardians, In light of yesterdays Federal Government announcement regarding free childcare as of next Monday 6th April, 2020 until 28th June, 2020 no parent fees will be charged. In saying this the Government have stated that they will review this after a month and may need to make changes. At the end of June they will also decide if they will extend this for a further 3 month period. The Federal Government will pay us 50% of our usual total fees based on boo...kings from 17/2/20 to 1/3/20, with the remainder of our income coming from the Job Keeper payment. If you are choosing to self isolate you can continue to do so for 14 weeks from next Monday without your enrolment being terminated due to non attendance. After this time we are unclear whether additional provisions will be made. We will let you know mid June if this is the case so you can make an informed decision on whether you wish to start attending to keep your enrolment active or cease care. We do ask if you are currently self isolating that you let us know the Monday prior to your week of return to ensure we have adequate staff rostered on and enough food ordered for meals. With school age children we will only be accepting them outside of school hours times as normal. So if it is school holidays or a pupil free day we will accept them during our full opening hours. If not we will only accept them for Before and After School Care as normal. If you have a current debt as of today with us we will still continue your Direct Debit or Centrepay until the debt is cleared as per the regular payment cycle you are on. Finally as per the Health Department advice if you can stay home and self isolate we encourage you to do so with your children to minimise the risk of infection to our staff so that they can provide care for both essential workers and vunerable children. We will also as per our policies not accept sick children into care. We hope you all stay safe. Regards, Melissa and Shane Williams

17.01.2022 PLEASE READ THE BELOW MESSAGE FROM THE DEPT OF EDUCATION SKILLS AND EMPLOYMENT. Dear Families On 2 April 2020, the Australian Government announced the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package that gives families much-needed fee relief while supporting services to keep their doors open and employees in their jobs.... What do you need to know? From 6 April to 28 June 2020, you won’t need to pay fees when you access child care. This will ensure care remains available to you if you need it. We are prioritising care for essential workers, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and previously enrolled children. For this period, the Government will provide direct funding to services so we can remain open. Because of this, Child Care Subsidy and Additional Child Care Subsidy won’t be paid during this time. If you’ve recently submitted a claim for Additional Child Care Subsidy (Temporary Financial Hardship), and you are eligible, it will only be paid until 5 April 2020. What do you need to do? If your enrolment is still current, there’s nothing you need to do. Please keep attending as you need. If you’ve stopped your child’s enrolment, you should contact us. Any families who are re-enrolling will need to confirm their new enrolment with Services Australia in their Centrelink online account through myGov. Although you won’t be getting Child Care Subsidy, you should make sure you stay eligible for Child Care Subsidy. This includes: continuing to care for your child at least 14% of the time meeting immunisation requirements telling Services Australia if you have a change in your circumstances. On 29 June 2020, your Child Care Subsidy will start again as long as you stay eligible. There’s nothing you’ll need to do to start it again. You should continue to update your family income estimate with Services Australia as necessary, especially if you get Family Tax Benefit. You can do that online in your Centrelink online account through myGov. Where can you find more information? To find out more, visit servicesaustralia.gov.au.

14.01.2022 Christmas farm excursion was rescheduled, and now look at how beautiful the weather is! Never mind, we're making gingerbread instead, and tomorrow looks good for the Pool excursion! Hooray!

13.01.2022 We had a very interesting and challenging afternoon of learning how to sew with Miss Liz. So much creativity and perseverance happening, it is wonderful to see! We're looking forward to more creativity and new skills next week. Enjoy your weekends everyone!

13.01.2022 Welcome to Term 1 on 2020! We are still accepting enrolments for new families, and have places available in both our Before School care and After School Care programs. Come and join the fun at the Coolest OSHC in Qld!

12.01.2022 I'd like to introduce you to some of the cuter members of our staff, and tell you a little about them. First up is Cheeky the guinea pig. He specialises in Child Stress Management, supervises the vegetable garden, and his hobbies include Squeaking, Advanced Escape Theory, and Carrot Disposal. Next we have Geoffrey, our head Cuddle Technician. She is in charge of the Egg Production Department, and I had to have a sharp word to her this morning, as we have had a noticeable dr...op in output. Very disappointing. Hiding in the corner we can see Henny Penny, who is the staff member responsible for giving all children a lot of exercise. She refuses to participate in both Cuddling and Egg Production, and we probably need to invest in some Professional Development classes for her. I've also included a sneak peek of one of our gardening projects, so watch this space to see how we go!

10.01.2022 September School Holidays are good to go! Message us here if you'd like to enrol, or simply print off this form, fill it out, and scan to us if your child is already enrolled!

07.01.2022 Dear Parent and Guardians, WE ARE STILL OPEN Update re COVID 19. Firstly our centre will always put the health and safety of the children that attend our service, our staff and families first. Given the latest health advice we will be remaining open until we are advised that it is not in the interest of public safety to do so. We ask everyone attending the centre to ensure you use the hand sanitiser at the front gate on arrival and departure for everyone. We will also assis...t children to wash their hands once in the centre as well. Children will be washing their more frequently during the day. We will also be conducting additional cleaning of high touch surfaces such as gates and doors. I have also asked my staff to spend as much time a practical in our larger outdoor areas to help with social distancing of children. We will still be providing a comprehensive program as practically possible. We will also be cancelling all excursions and incursions to the centre to limit unnecessary contact. I have been advised this morning that the government will allow additional absences above the current 42 day limit without the need for parents to provide medical certificates for those parents who wish to retain their position in the centre and keep their children at home. If you do wish to terminate your child’s position at the centre please ensure this is done in writing. Shane and Melissa Williams See more

06.01.2022 We're very excited to announce our 2019/20 School Holidays program is here! It is going to be a very busy and exciting 6 weeks for all our little people at Cool Kids, we've got some amazing workshops with Little Theatre, exciting excursions, and lots of great in-house activities to keep them all occupied. As always, meals are provided and different dietary requirements catered for. If you have any questions, please contact us before or after school on 46814648 or email [email protected] any time.

06.01.2022 Dear Parents, In order to safely care for our staff and students this school holidays, we will be unable to take walk-in bookings. This means if you bring your child to Cool Kids without calling ahead or making a booking in writing, and they are not already booked in, we will be unable to accept them.... In addition, we need all bookings to be finalised in writing by Wednesday 5pm so we can ensure correct staff ratios, order food, and plan our program to suit your children. Due to COVID-19, we have reduced bookings and no excursions, and much less flexibility as a result. Thank you to our parents who have booked, we look forward to providing another exciting program for your children this holidays! Best wishes, and stay healthy, Elizabeth Fama’aea Co-Ordinator Stanthorpe Cool Kids (07) 4681 4648

06.01.2022 Nothing like a 3pm hail storm! Parents, just a reminder for this storm season, if a storm hits around 3pm, know that students will be kept safely in class until... the storm passes. Students will be released as soon as it's safe to go outside. Buses may be delayed if this is the case. We ask that parents also consider their own safety, and don't try to drive out in a storm. 05.01.2022 We've had another lovely week at Cool Kids, mostly outdoors enjoying the beautiful autumn weather! We finished off our Green Cubby, made some Mother's Day gifts for our amazing mums, and learned a bit about worms and what they need to be happy from our worm farm! Have a great weekend, give all your mums a hug, and see you on Monday!

04.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day. If you have time, this is a beautiful video to watch with your children on this very important day of remembrance.
