25.01.2022 CGP Updates: - Corona virus screening- this process continues. At the door you will be asked about your recent travel history, any history of fevers or respiratory symptoms. If you are identified as being at risk will make arrangements to have a COVID swab collected and we will assess you outside of the clinic. - We are still conducting corona virus testing clinic Monday-Friday from 11.30-12.30 daily please call to make an appointment. - I understand and share the concern we all have about the lack of medical services in our local area and the clinic is overwhelmed by demand at times. We work very hard everyday to help our community. To voice your concerns about this issue I encourage you to contact your Local Member, Roy Butler to discuss this further. 17.01.2022 Coolah GP Update 10/11/2020 Demand on medical services- there is constant pressure on all rural medical services. It is helpful to take this into perspective if you are frustrated at any of the services in our area. If you would like to voice your concerns or frustrations please contact your local member, Roy Butler. You can call his Narrabri Office on (02) 6792 1422. Appointment Cancellations- please be courteous and cancel appointments if you are unable to attend. This al...lows us to reallocate the appointments to someone else in need. If less than 24 hours' notice is provided a cancellation fee of $25 will be charged. Child & Family Health Nurse- the Child and Family Health nurse services will no longer be visiting Coolah MPS at this time hopefully a new nurse will be found soon. Please be prepared and book ahead for any immunisations. Doctor’s Holidays- upcoming holidays will be taken from 19th/11 to 25th/11. Laverty will be open on these dates. The following dates will be 20/12/2020 10/01/2021. Script Appointments- script appointments are offered and encouraged. A script appointment is when you present at the practice and wait for Dr Martin to provide your needed script. These are not available for all medications, to find out if you are eligible please call the practice. COVID Appointments- There is an option to have a phone appointment or COVID appointment for results if appropriate. Discuss this with reception when you book your appointment. Customer Service- At Coolah GP we work under the motto How can we help?. Everyday myself and my staff works very hard to try help our patients. Due to the high demand on the service it is not always easy to fit everyone... in. However, we do not tolerate any form of abuse any person who is not prepared to remain respectful and polite will not be welcome as a patient. We have the privilege to look after so many good people and this is where the focus of our care will remain. SMS Services- these services allow us to text patient’s to remind them of their appointment . Please talk to reception or nursing staff so we can enable this feature on your file. Drivers Licence Medicals- I note that these medical assessments cause stress for some patients and I sometimes share these feelings. I do not make the rules in regard to Medical Fitness for driving but I do have to follow these rules and apply restrictions as indicated. Please also remember that if your Medical Assessment form is for a Commercial Licence this assessment comes with a fee and even stricter guidelines. As a rule these forms will come around your birthday so please plan ahead and be prepared- have an optometry review and check out the rule- see website link below- so everything goes smoothly. https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au//licen/health/fit-to-drive.html Flu vaccinations- it is not too late- if you have not had your vaccination please make an appointment to have this attended. 13.01.2022 Coolah GP Update RaRMS Records Transfer- This has not been an easy process and is coming at great expense of time and money- I am determined to see it through to ensure records are not lost but we have to be patient with the process. Cancelling Appointments- I am continually worried by people who call to book an appointment and then do not attend as planned. We are having to book appointments weeks in advance and if people had simply called to cancel then these appointment...s times could have been offered to someone else.
