12.01.2022 Every little bit helps so if you can, I know your help would be appreciated.

11.01.2022 Today I wrote to Kevin Hogan MP. Here's what I wrote. Good morning Kevin, Thank you for your kind words on social media on 25 October about the fine work the CW...A does in your electorate. I am very disappointed in your government's decision not to provide further funding to the CWA's Drought Relief program. In the last 15 months the CWA of NSW has distributed nearly $15 million dollars directly to drought affected farming families to assist them with their household bills. The CWA is now nearly out of funds and needs more. The CWA has a better understanding of who is being affected by the drought and how they are being affected than the government does. As a grass roots organisation the CWA has better knowledge than any government, and it is bitterly disappointing to see your government refusing to provide additional funding. The $750,000 given to Barnaby Joyce for being "special envoy for the drought" when he did not provide any written reports is an example of the profligate nature of your government's spending on drought. If that $750,000 had been given to the CWA it would have helped 250 struggling families instead of just one family (which already has a large off-farm income to rely on). I urge you to, rather than sending me a form letter outlining how much funding you've put aside for drought relief, to actually listen to me (and I'm sure many others who have contacted you) and lobby your government as hard as you can on our behalf. The CWA is more trusted than yours (or any) government, and they are a bigger benefit to communities than funds locked away in a drought war chest could ever be. Yours sincerely, Odette Nettleton

09.01.2022 To date we have processed over 11,000 Applications and distributed of $18.6 million. Whilst many regions of NSW are currently in drought recovery, there are sti...ll many families who will struggle through this recovery for years to come and some families who are still badly affected by drought and in need of assistance. The CWA of NSW Drought Aid program is still accepting applications for drought relief from eligible families and will continue to do so as long as we have funds available. https://www.cwaofnsw.org.au/droughtaid

01.01.2022 Because the CWA is famous for its Tea and Scones; Sconversations has been born. https://www.facebook.com/events/644039582748998/ During this time of on-going drought and uncertainty, the rural community is really feeling the pinch. Sconversations is a great way of sitting down and sharing your concerns. Meeting the fourth Friday of the month, every month, at 2.00pm. It’s an opportunity to connect with friends and chat about local issues. Connecting with others can boost our... sense of well-being and give us the chance to enjoy the company of others. It’s not just for the women of our community, the menfolk are just as welcome. See more
