25.01.2022 Found this about the Australian JobKeepers allowance and supports to day. Tip: if you are working from home you can claim 0.80c per hour in your tax at the end of the financial year (you will need to diarise the time to June 30). Here is the ATO link for those of you keen to read up more about this. ... https://www.ato.gov.au//JobKeeper-payment---employee-nomi/ Thanks Well Stars for sharing this with us to keep us in the know. A good suggestion was to post your regions tax and government support links here.

13.01.2022 Last Friday, the National Safety Council of Australia ran a Webinar called 'Crew Care'. Graeme Cowan was the presenter (one of the founders of RUOK?). He talked about 7 mental health hacks if you're working from home: 1) Only read COVID-19 updates from trusted sources (recommended WorkSafe NSW or Safework Australia) 2) Restrict looking at media to twice a day. 3) Create a routine and stick to a schedule - need a start and stop time. 4) Work in 45 minute chunks and then get ...up, walk around get some fresh air 5) Set regular times to speak with team mates. 6) Schedule a work date - who can you Skype? 7) Take a walk at lunch time (if possible in nature) for 30 mins. He also talked about 'Self-care not being selfish' and how important self-care is during this time. Three critical elements of self-care are: 1) Vitality (Exercise, sleep, good diet) 2) Intimacy (Having a 'care crew' to talk to - people who make you laugh and feel good) 3) Prosperity (focusing on the positive - thinking about 3 things we are grateful for every day!). On Tuesday April 21, at 10am, Dr Amantha Imber has a free webinar for people on how to manage the challenges of working from home (and the inevitable productivity drop as this 'new normal' settles in. She will be drawing on her two decades of experience as an Organisational Psychologist, tips and tricks she has picked up from my guests and the thousands of scientific journal articles and books she has read on productivity, connectedness, and motivation. https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_P9IE8ugfQwa314NpS320ww See more
