24.01.2022 REFLECTIONS ON THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF ANZAC DAY By Rob Waring 25 April 2015... Its sad to see the medals move, From the left breast to the right, But those of us, who are left, Know our forebears fought the fight. I wear my parents medals, Proudly on my chest, Knowing that they fought and won, By giving all their best. Young men are still fighting, And will win more medals and awards, Until one day for which we pray, They will put away their swords. And when that day comes to pass, All medals on the right, We all will sing and praise the Lord, That they fought and won the fight. And better yet, if I had my way, All celebrations would cease, No medals ribbons or songs of war, And the world would live in peace.

06.01.2022 We are pleased to announce the launch of our COOLGARDIE RSL SUB-BRANCH REFURBISHMENT FUND. All funds will go towards the refurbishment of the iconic MARVEL BAR HOTEL that has been our home for the last 60 years. For those of you who may not be aware the MARVEL BAR HOTEL opened in 1897 it was de-licensed as a hotel in 1927, it remained derelict until 1950 when a number of Coolgardie, Western Australia Returned Servicemen reclaimed the building as the new home of the Coolgardie RSL. We will be posting more information and photos over the coming weeks so please stay tuned. We will also be providing an opportunity for everyone to assist us in this massive project via our Facebook page and website www.coolgardiersl.com.au

05.01.2022 The sign unfortunately reflects the incorrect name of this iconic building, but the spirit of the Coolgardie RSL Sub-Branch ensures that the spirit of this beautiful building and those that inhabited it lives on. This hotel was built in 1897 it remained a licensed premises until 1927 after which point it remained derelict until 1950 when was selected by a number of Coolgardie Returned Servicemen as the new home of the Coolgardie RSL Sub-Branch. These men breathed new life into a building such as they had breathed new life into our nation. For the last 60 years this building has remained the home of the Coolgardie RSL Sub-Branch, where all are welcome and whose many families are honored within its walls. LEST WE FORGET
