18.01.2022 BIKE STOLEN ...at approx 11.30 am this person came onto our premises and stole a Specialized Rockhopper Expert valued at $1700. He has ridden away via Brisbane Rd heading north. He was wearing a backpack on his front and another on his back. Please keep an eye out.

15.01.2022 Have you ever wondered about what you would do if you badly injured yourself out on a trail somewhere and needed to call 000 for help? How would you explain to the operator EXACTLY where you were, so rescuers could easily find you? This ingenious web tool might just save your bacon and also save a lot of time and frustration for rescue workers. https://what3words.com Is a website that will take your location coordinates and convert them to a unique 3-word combination that ...is code for your exact location (in a 3mx3m square) on the face of the earth. You can then just relay those 3 words to the 000 operator. No need for confusing grid coordinates or trying to instruct them as to what roads or trails they need to take to find you. In the comments is the story of a recent rescue in Tassie which shows just how useful what3words was for the injured person and their rescuers. Worth checking out for anyone who likes to lose themselves out in our wonderful wild places See more

04.01.2022 It's been a while since we've had such a good spell of rain, so we took the opportunity to spruce up an old favorite: Wreck it Rod (Trail #8). Now open

02.01.2022 So happy to find these very fresh scats (koala droppings) this morning up near the western boundary. The tree they were under has lovely fresh green leaves and ...has clearly been traveled up and down frequently. From learning about scats I would say that these ones are about 3 days old and still softish and in abundance Keep your out and please post if you are lucky enough to see one. And if you are taking your dog for a walk with you PLEASE keep it ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. See more
