18.01.2022 I was asked to check operation of this 1991 Brivis Buffalo ducted heater. Within seconds of the heater starting, my carbon monoxide analyser picked up a peak reading of 9324 ppm before I was able to shut the heater off. The scary part was that this huge quantity of lethal gas was completely odourless. This post is a reminder residents to service their heaters at a minimum every two years. It’s also a more important reminder for technicians to take a CO reading before starting work on a unit. If I’d worked on this heater without taking a reading the result could have been fatal. @ Mornington, Victoria
