25.01.2022 Turning towards your partner's bids is one of the simplest ways to build trust in your relationship. It says, "I'm here for you, I see you, and I am a safe plac...e." Trusting that you and your partner will turn towards one another in emotional moments, as well as in everyday conversation, is truly what good relationships are all about. Try these 15 ideas to turn towards one another or come up with your own. Revisit this list when you both feel like you need to bring more opportunities to connect into your relationship. 19.01.2022 Today, try an experiment inspired by the famous Rumi poem. Notice your reactivity to discomfort to any emotions that arise. See if you can redefine that moment... as a "choice point" where you can explore the feeling that is there. You may even choose to breathe into the physical feeling as if you were gently touching the wound as you might a wounded child or animal. Go ahead and serve it tea. #mindfulliving #InspiredbyRumi #MindfulLiving #MindfulLivingCollective

16.01.2022 Burnout. We’re all there. It’s exhausting. The good news? There’s a path through it. In this episode of #UnlockingUs I talk to Drs. Emily and Amelia Nagoski abo...ut their book, Burnout. I’ve been practicing their 7 complete the stress cycle strategies since we recorded the podcast and I must say: Total game changer! HUGE learning for me: Dealing with the STRESSOR is just one part of dealing with burnout. The other part is dealing with the STRESS by completing the stress cycle and getting through that emotions tunnel. You can listen to our conversation here: https://bit.ly/3iRRX4Q

14.01.2022 This is so important to know. There are more connections from the body going up to our brain than our brain going down to the body. This makes sense because of... how much information is required to keep our body alive and safe! But it can be frustrating when we know things with our brain that our body’s stress response doesn’t seem to compute. And this is compounded when there is trauma. The good news is that there are so many strategies to help our body regulate so we can feel calm in body and mind. Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (SETI) is a great resource in this area.
14.01.2022 #Repost @babaramdass Just allowing your humanity and that of others to be as it is, is the beginning of compassion. We are in a human incarnation. We can’t walk away. To walk in the dharma is also to hear other human beings. Excerpt from Ram Dass’s book ‘Polishing the Mirror’

12.01.2022 Even with all the knowledge and tools to become healthier, happier individuals, it is often our mindset and daily practices that will be the strongest guiding f...orce to carry us through our health journey. When we are tuned into it we are better able to navigate the ups and downs of life. Our values and personal truths keep us grounded in integrity and deepening this connection to ourselves gives us strength and resilience. For me, working with someone to create a morning routine that involves meditation, journaling, and movement was a pivotal part of making the most of my days. See more

10.01.2022 Unfortunately, the past methods of treating mental health disorders didn’t actually look at what was happening inside the brain. It was a guessing game based on... symptoms without knowing the real cause, location, or severity of the imbalance. The good news is that now, with technology like brain scans, we can get a clear picture of what is happening in the brain to get real solutions. Dr. Daniel Amen has been paving the way for a new type of psychiatry, looking at the actual brain, and using an integrative approach to prevent disease and successfully treat it. I talked to him in a past interview of The Doctor’s Farmacy about this and so much more. You can listen to this episode here: https://bit.ly/3pjvYbf See more
10.01.2022 The mind needs to be reeducated to feel physical sensations, and the body needs to be helped to tolerate and enjoy the comforts of touch. Individuals who lack e...motional awareness are able, with practice, to connect their physical sensations to psychological events. Then they can slowly reconnect with themselves. 07.01.2022 Remember, two opposing things can be true at the same. Here’s are some reminders about holding opposites: You can feel worthy of compassion, even when y...ou are making mistakes. You can allow yourself to take a break, even when you have done the bare minimum. You can be confident and certain, even when you are learning and unlearning. You can be capable of growth, even when you are feeling frozen and stuck. And, in an opposite voice: I can feel worthy of compassion, even when I am making mistakes. I can allow myself to take a break, even when I have done the bare minimum. I can be confident and certain, even when I am learning and unlearning. I can be capable of growth, even when I am feeling frozen and stuck. See more
07.01.2022 It is absolutely our work to be kind, loving, thoughtful, considerate, and direct with our approach. We ought to think about the ways in which we are saying thi...ngs and how we use language. We ought to look at why something is coming up for us and flush out the control or manipulation that might be attached to it. But, what we can consider moving away from is staying in a role in which we take on the managing of someone else’s emotional experience and regulation. Now why is that hard? Because a lot of people have a hard time emotionally regulating. If you’re used to someone responding with anger, defensiveness, criticism, or any sort of emotional chaos, then our programming gets set to try to protect ourselves through changing the way WE show up. Other people’s inability to emotionally regulate can often get in the way of us honoring and keeping our own boundaries, and sharing what we need to share. And when we absorb that, we play into not emotionally regulating ourselves through honesty, transparency, and the such. It’s tricky and can catch us up in a cycle of dysfunction. So what to do? Notice the ways in which you emotionally protected growing up. Observe how the main players (family system) would emotionally regulate (or not). How did they? What did they do? And how did you mold in order to try to help regulate? Consider how you do that present day. There are some people who can’t take feedback. Giving it to them could put you at risk. I want to acknowledge that. Safety first, always. Making these shifts can truly only happen in a safe system. But we need to start moving ourselves to emotional regulation. Inviting others to do the same. We want to trust that we can regulate the self and that the other person can also regulate themselves. I know that’s some heavy lifting, but that’s the goals. So today, this week, I ask you to look at your own emotional regulation. Can others come to you and trust you? Is anyone having to emotionally regulate for you? You for them? #mindfulmft See more

04.01.2022 If there was something you could do everyday to boost your focus and productivity, feel energized, reduce stress, sleep better, maintain a positive outlook, and... support whole-body health, wouldn’t you do it? It’s for all these reasons, and more, that I consider meditation a foundational pillar to good health. I used to think I didn’t have time for meditation but now I know I don’t have time NOT to do itit’s become that integral in helping me manage all of my other many responsibilities and passions. Since starting, I’m happier than ever, have found the love of my life, and my business is rocking. There are so many resources out there to get started on meditating such as apps, videos online, and my dear friend Emily Fletcher’s book Stress Less, Accomplish More. See more
