17.01.2022 THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST Good afternoon Coolup! We have a supporting initiative at the store supported by Robyn Clarke MLA along with the leadership team at Pinjarra Senior High School. The petition is to fund resources and buildings for Pinjarra Senior High School, specifically a performing arts centre and sports hall! This is an amazing cause and opportunity for PSHS, its all about supporting our local community https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YRBNXN8

16.01.2022 Were hearing that people are confused about what we are all being asked to do, so just to be clear DO NOT gather in groups. DO NOT travel. DO NOT hang out wit...h mates at the beach or park. DO NOT mingle at the shopping centre. Practise social distancing, hand hygiene and cough etiquette - every minute of the day. Regularly wash your hands with soap and water. Get more info at australia.gov.au and abc.net.au/coronavirus
14.01.2022 Well done Rogers Fambam!
14.01.2022 I'm sure you've heard me say it before - travelling around Western Australia is a world-class experience. From the unique landscapes of the Kimberley and Pilbar...a to the gourmet paradise of the South West, and everything in between, our State has so much to see and do. But, sadly, this just isn't the time for it. We've made the extremely difficult and completely unprecedented decision to shut down travel between WA's regions. From midnight Tuesday, restrictions will be placed on travel within the entire State of Western Australia. Western Australians will not be permitted to leave their regional boundary. Its absolutely vital every Western Australian understands you cannot travel within WA. It must stop immediately. Police have the power to enforce these restrictions if necessary, and fines of up to $50,000 can be issued. To be clear, those are: the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid-West, Goldfields-Esperance, Wheatbelt, Great Southern and South West. Due to their proximity and interconnected nature, Perth and Peel will be treated as one region. The health and safety of people in regional Western Australia must be our priority. Exemptions will apply for, among other things, essential services and workers, including health and emergency services; people living in border communities, who may not have access to groceries or supplies within their region; employment purposes; medical reasons; transport of essential goods and some compassionate grounds. Additional restrictions to remote Aboriginal communities were announced by Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ben Wyatt this week, to provide extra protection to these vulnerable communities. If you are currently away from home - you need to come back. Now. If you were planning a trip - you cannot go. But I have one important request - don't cancel your bookings with our regional hotels, tours or other providers - postpone them instead. This won't last forever, so let's do what we can to make sure those businesses are still there once it is over. That next trip will just be so much sweeter.
14.01.2022 To our kiddos never fear! Easter bunny has his very own travel exemption courtesy of the premier of Western Australia.
14.01.2022 COVID-19: STOP THE SPREAD These are some ways to stop the spread of COVID-19 from the World Health Organisation (WHO). We value and love our little town so much and would hate to see any of you get sick from the virus, so please take care and practice healthy sanitation practices REGULARLY (this means after everything you do - WASH YA HANDS AND SANITISE!!)
13.01.2022 Calves/ yearlings out on Harts Rd near the Deeble Rd intersection. Anyone missing some?
13.01.2022 THE COOLUP GENERAL STORE This Historic General Store and post office has been servicing the town of Coolup since the area was first settled in 1886 and the town...site was gazetted in 1899 and is the centre hub of the community. The present building was built in 1952. Coolup is a small town in the Peel region of Western Australia. The town is situated just off the South Western Highway, 100 km from Perth and 100kms from Bunbury and close to the Murray River. The Coolup General Store is 150 metres away from the what will be the largest multimillion-dollar Murray Region Equestrian equestrian facility in WA. Coolup is home to the proposed new Centre, whose construction is in the initial stages of development. The shire of Murray has applied for funding for up to $20 million dollars for the project. In fact stages 1 and 2 are complete, with national quality features. Stage 3 will include an indoor Arena. (Fun fact) - The towns name is Indigenous Australian in origin and is thought to mean the place of the wild Bush turkey. We are 15 minutes away from both next towns and 30 minutes away from the closest city yet we retain our 'Rural' feel. We really enjoy the best of both worlds. The Store is the hub of the community with the owners being an integral part of Coolups everyday life. The features of the store are its 'old General Store' appearance, which the owners have expanded upon by placing an impressive jarrah and iron counter that runs three quarters the length of the store. The store features roller shutters and is fully alarmed for added security. Modern shelving and flooring and freshly painted interior. Business info - The Coolup General store is also the Coolup Licensed Post Office. Toll and Startrack have a care depot within. Mail is delivered and collected daily. There are 300+ over the counter delivery post office boxes at the store which serves the Coolup community of 400+ with their mail each and every day. The Post office has an epos system and is able to handle banking bill paying. The store currently holds a food license which allows them to make barista coffee and freshly made and toasted sandwiches that are currently being made and served every day to customers with the option to install a full kitchen for more catering options. The store is the morning and Afternoon pick up point for the school buses for the area. There is scope and room for a Hardware agency to make the most of the large attached shed. The store is centrally located in a small hobby farm to a larger farming area. Coolup is a relic to its Dairy heritage and is now home to numerous equestrian and boutique small businesses. The Coolup General Store holds a liquor Store Licence and is potentially an area for significant growth. At present, the store is running basic stock. The store has little in the way of Highway signage on both the Forrest Highway and also the Southwest Highway, so this is also an area that is yet to be taken advantage of. The Store also holds a license to sell tobacco. Viewing will not disappoint as this Freehold store offers a quality lifestyle for the owners with growth from the Murray councils investment in the area. * General store freehold * Coffee machine and cafe amenities * Shire pre-approval for a fast food kitchen * Liquor and Tobacco License * Hardware and Postoffice * Corner location * Country Town quality lifestyle with a strong community connection * 20 million being spent on the equestrian centre NEW PRICE : $380,000 Contact Owners Kim and Rachel Sellin 0407770402 Private message [email protected] or you can contact our Broker with the following details Richard Hamlin 0421582930 [email protected] Www.rbhrealestate.com.au

10.01.2022 Unfortunately THREE more properties in Coolup have been targeted by thieves. One on Gibbings Rd on Thursday night and two on Mounsey Rd on Saturday night. Items... taken include, Chainsaws, Welders, Tooling, Swags, Keys out of a motorbike ( possibly with the intention of coming back to drive it out? ) a Gator and more. From what the owners could determine in one instance, the thieves have pulled up and the front gate and walked into the property, loading what they can into a wheelbarrow and walking it back to the front gate, leaving the wheel barrow behind. A PA door was ripped off a shed, and padlocks are being cut. The owners were all home at the time of the burglary. Please look out for yourselves and your neighbours. Try and get photos of suspicious cars and registration plates if you can. Report any suspicious activity or vehicle movements. If something doesn’t seem right, report it to the police and your neighbours so everyone is well informed. We have the benefit of everyone knowing everyone in town so use it to our advantage and stay vigilant.

02.01.2022 ** UPDATE ** 3-year-old missing boy James has been located in bushland alive by a family member who was assisting with the land search operation. Given the tim...e he has spent exposed to the rough terrain and poor weather conditions, arrangements will be made for him to have a medical check-up as a precaution. WA Police Force thanks all the emergency service volunteers and community members who assisted with the search. Original Post: Police are searching for a missing 3-year-old boy James in the area around Karli Rise, Yallingup. James was last seen about 7:30am today, Saturday 19 September 2020. James is described as fair skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is wearing white Spiderman pyjamas. It is believed James is also wearing wellington boots. Anyone who sees James is asked to remain with him and call Police immediately on 000. While some search resources will scale down overnight, Police will remain in the search area and continue to conduct patrols and search for James. If James is not located by tonight, the full search operation will continue tomorrow. Important message from Police in relation to locals residents attending the search area: - Thank you to everyone who has attended the search area. The response has been significant. - It is important members of the public do not venture into the bushland areas as they may inadvertently compromise evidence of where James has walked, and that could impact on the ability of trained searchers to track his movements. - Anyone who is in the area already is asked to stick to the main tracks and roads. - At this time there is no need for further members of the public to attend the location. - For those people who are already on site it is important they register their attendance at the Incident Command Post which is located at the DFES SES building on Caves Road. Post last updated at 7:20pm 19/09/2020.
