20.01.2022 Let's play a guessing game! Can you guess where in SA these pictures were taken? If you guessed the Flinders Ranges, you would be correct! Spare a thought for Mr Wallis, Carelle and some of our 9/10 students on Operation Flinders while we are nice and cosy indoors!

19.01.2022 Dear parent/caregiver, The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result our school will be open and operating as normal. ... We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. OSHC will operate as usual. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at school on Monday.

18.01.2022 Today we paused to pay our respects to those who have fallen protecting our country. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning ... We will remember them" See more

04.01.2022 Unfortunately the HASS Ideas Convention, which is supposed to be occurring tomorrow, is now cancelled due to the hardening of the COVID-19 restrictions. Student work is still due tomorrow and there will be an opportunity for them share their work with one another at a later date.

03.01.2022 GEOGRAPHY In Year 7 Geography today, students looked at what an oil spill is, how they happen and the effects of an oil spill on the ocean and marine life. We had a simulation activity for students to see how hard the oil is to clean out of the ocean. At the end of the task, one group was able to clear 11cm of oil out of the original 2 cups that were put in. What we learnt was how hard oil is to remove from the ocean and some different techniques that can be used to clean them up.

01.01.2022 To our school community, families and friends, Yesterday our district experienced a large bush fire which involved many of our farming families and members of our community. The fact that this fire occurred as SA went in to lock down can mean that some of us are, or may have, experienced some anxious thoughts and feelings of uncertainty. We have put together some links to resources which may help you have conversations with your children but also help you understand your own... responses. Please do not hesitate to contact me, Stacy (Youth Worker 0428 836 556) if you have any thoughts or concerns you would like to discuss. https://www.helpguide.org//helping-children-cope-with-trau https://raisingchildren.net.au//trauma-support-for-children https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au//trauma-and-children-t Much love, from the staff at CAS
