18.01.2022 We had Biggera Waters and Arundel state schools bring 20 Yesterday we hosted Biggera Waters SS and Arundel SS students (6 teams) with their robots to compete against each other in timed Mars rover missions. Each team had two minutes to design a maze and then eight minutes to try to code their way through the maze and the fastest times were recorded. They then rotated around the mazes and repeated the challenge on each of the different mazes. Between each round, scientifi...c questions about Mars were asked and teams who answered them correctly got bonus points. These points were added to the timed scores at the end of the day to determine a first, second and third team. Teams received certificates and place badges. Biggera Waters SS students then challenged Coombabah SHS students in sumo wrestling challenges which made the kids very excited because most of the primary school kids beat the high school kids including my bulldozer robot! Levon Lock did a great job organizing the event challenges and our Robotics Club students and STEM Ambassadors did a fantastic job setting up and running each of the group tasks! Everyone can’t wait until next year so we can do it all again! Yes
