24.01.2022 How will you keep cool? A heat wave will sweep the South East today, with top temperatures of 35 at Nerang and 36 at Canungra. Temperatures are expected to... reach up to 40 degrees out west. Gold Coast Health says the edlerly, frail and young are most at risk but everyone should minimise physical activity and avoid alcohol. Heat stress can begin with symptoms like headaches, lethargy, nausea and vomiting. Don't forget your furry friends, making sure they have plenty of water and shade.

23.01.2022 There are some people you should call in an emergency, and others you definitely should not! You should always phone Triple Zero (000) immediately in an emerge...ncy. If you see smoke or fire, regardless of the size, do not assume someone else will alert QFES. Nearly all large fires were once little fires and we consider these an emergency act quickly as time is of the essence! Remember, do NOT phone your local Fire Warden, Rural Fire Service brigade or Fire & Rescue station. These firefighters may not be in the station and this delays any response to the incident. The number to ring is Triple Zero (000).

22.01.2022 Today we remember the sacrifice so many have made LEST WE FORGET

04.01.2022 With summer starting tomorrow and many grass and bushfires already burning, it's a timely reminder to start preparing for bushfires. While the risk of bushfir...es isn't as high as last summerdue to an active La Niña which suggests wetter-than-average conditions for much of the countryfires will still occur. Southeastern Australia in particular is one of the most fire-prone regions in the world and even short periods of hot and dry weather can increase the risk of fire in summer. Understanding fire weather means you can be better prepared and help you stay safe. Learn more from our blog: http://ow.ly/zFLl50CxDDN

03.01.2022 Please Slow Down when approaching our firefighting appliances with flashing red and blue lights. Firefighters will be working in that area and we please ask everyone to consider their safety whilst they are protecting our communities.
