If you wish your child to have the special Subway lunch deal that is available, please order by 6pm tomorrow night. Please note that no late orders can be accepted. 21.01.2022 Our Fun Run has now been finalised and our prize order submitted. Thank you to all who raised money to support our school or simply had fun on the day! It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling faces really enjoying the fun run! Some students did not submit their prize order in the allocated time. To ensure these students did not miss their well-deserved prize, the following process was followed: 1. If your child had chosen a goal prize and had raised enough money... to qualify for this prize, it was selected on his/her behalf. 2. If your child raised under $100, a prize was chosen from the highest available category on his/her behalf. 3. If your child raised over $100, they were invited to choose their prize from the brochure. We look forward to distributing prizes to our students after the holidays! We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ben C from 2D. Ben was our highest fundraiser for the school, with a total of $1725.18! What a champion effort from Ben and his family! 18.01.2022 At Coomera State School, we like to acknowledge great behaviour choices! As the students accrue superhero slips, they choose their own reward from the rewards menu. One such choice is a "Superhero Snapshot". Students get their photo taken with the special frame, and are then acknowledged on our school Facebook page. Congratulations, Lola! You are our first Superhero Snapshot!

The service encourages you to book promptly as spaces are expected to fill up quickly.

15.01.2022 What a fun way to finish off the term! Each sector of our school will be participating in a fun sports day carnival. There'll be sprints, relays, ball games and other fun sporting activities. Students are invited to show support for their house by wearing a shirt of the appropriate colour - yellow, green or red! Students, please remember to bring a water bottle and you MUST be wearing your hat. If your hat is reversible, wear it with your house colour showing tomorrow!

15.01.2022 A reminder that orders for Friday's Subway meal deal closed at 6:00pm. Students in Prep - Year 2 will receive their order at first break, and students in Years 3 - 6 will receive their meal deal at second break. You may like to send along a snack for your child to eat at the other break. The older students will especially appreciate a snack as they will be waiting until second break for their food!! 14.01.2022 What a beautiful day for our Fun Run today! So many happy smiling faces - just beautiful to see! A huge thank you to our amazing staff, our supportive P&C and our VERY energetic student school leaders for making today so successful. Most of all, THANK YOU to our students for participating in today's event, having fun and raising funds for our school at the same time. The only thing missing today were our parents! We will be posting photos and videos next week. In the meantime, we will share some clips from tonight's news. We are so proud of the amazing job our school community has done. Remember, it's not too late to gain further sponsorship. Currently, we have raised $12, 993!! We have until September 11 to see how close we can get to our original target!

14.01.2022 At the end of each term, two students from each class are acknowledged at a special assembly. One is an academic endeavour award, presented to a student who has shown significant improvement or outstanding effort and commitment to their learning. The other is a citizenship award, which is presented to a student who consistently meets the school expectations and is a caring and thoughful member of our school community. There are also awards for Japanese, Technology, Lexile a...nd a Peer Mentor of the term. Today's assesmbly was very different, as previously our assemblies have been well attended by parents and family members. Despite this change, it was lovely to see the pride and happiness on the students' faces as they went up to accept their award. Mrs White advised the students to enjoy their break, and come back to school next term with renewed energy ready to to once again do their best learning. 13.01.2022 Money collection for our Fun Run closes Friday! Can we make it to $14 000? If you haven't shared your child's fundraising profile on social media for a while, this is your last opportunity to do so. The prize portal will open tomorrow, and all prize selections must be made by September 15. Remember, your child may have chosen a prize as a goal, but you will still need to log in to his/her fundraising profile to order the prize. Our Coomera community has done an awesome job of supporting our major fundraiser for 2020 - and our students had an amazing day! Thank you everyone!

The Subway Meal Deal day will be held on the last day of school this term, Friday, September 18. Please note the following: Prep - Year 2 students will receive their order for first break. Students in Years 3 - 6 will receive their order for second break. You may like to send along a snack for the other break for your child. The tu...ckshop will be CLOSED on this day. Orders can be made via Qkr!, and must be made by 6:00pm pm on Tuesday, September 15. The meal deal contains a 6 inch sub, with your choice of meat, salad and sauce, a drink and a cookie. 12.01.2022 Keep an eye on Channel 9 Gold Coast news! Our wonderful performance group, with the assistance of Ms De Goldi, were filmed by Channel 9 this morning. Unfortunately, some of our students had to miss the filming as they were at swimming. We are also looking forward to these talented students performing at our next Coomera Country Markets under the direction of Mrs Saville. What a lovely way to spread Christmas Cheer!!! We will let our school community know when our students will be be on TV.

This year’s theme ‘Access-ability making things better for everyone’ highlights the benefits of improved accessibility, not only for people with disability but also for the whole community. We all benefit when the communities where we live, work, learn and play are inclusive and provide opportunities for everyone to participate and fulfil their potential.

08.01.2022 This Thursday, 26 November, is the last School Banking day for 2020. Thank you to our amazing student school bankers who have participated in the program this year. Not only have you had hands on savings practice, but our school has also benefited by receiving $355 from the Commonwealth Bank. Our thanks to our School Banking Coordinators for volunteering their time every week. We look forward to recommencing the program in 2021.

04.01.2022 It's finally time for our fun run! The excitement is running high, with many students excited at the prospect of winning the lucky draw to be the one to colour Mrs Furlonger, Mr Austen or Mrs Underwood! Remember, every student who has raised $50 or more is in the draw to win! So far, we have raised $12,777.83!! Your child should wear a white shirt as this will show the colour best. If your child would prefer to not be sprayed with colour, please ensure they are wearing a dark shirt. Remember to pack a change of clothes in a plastic bag. Bring on the FUN!!

04.01.2022 What a great "Walk & Wheel Wednesday" we had! Thank you so much to the students who participated, and to the parents and carers who changed their routines to get students to the meeting point early. Many, many students said how much fun the morning was, and also how yummy the breakfast was!!! Our lucky raffle winners were Coen from Yr 1, Isabella from Yr 3 and Mason from Yr 4. Congratulations!!! Keep an eye on Channel 7 and Channel 9 Gold Coast news tonight - you might see our school!

03.01.2022 As we get close to the end of the term, P&C would like to offer students one final special lunch meal deal on Tuesday, 1st December (week 9). This delicious meal deal consists of a hotdog and a slush puppie available in two sizes either a full size hotdog and regular slush puppie ($6) or for those with a smaller appetite, a half size hotdog and regular slush puppie ($4.50). Meal deals can be ordered for both first and second break and all orders must be placed online via Qkr! Orders close on Sunday, 29th November or until sold out. Don’t delay ordering as hotdog numbers are limited! We wish to advise families that the last day for tuckshop this year is Friday 4th December. We apologise for any inconvenience but the tuckshop will be closed during week 10.

03.01.2022 Dear Parents/Caregivers of Year 6 campers! Students will be returning from camp around 2.30-2.45pm today. Please collect your students from Beattie Road gate. Also, be aware that swimming buses will be returning around the same time, which may cause some congestion. Thank you for your patience!

Helping Hands Network, providers of after hours school care here at Coomera SS, have generously sponsored our first stall. That means maximum profits going back to our school! The P&C requires volunteers on the day. If you are able to help out for an hour or two, please comment below, send a private message or email the P&C directly on [email protected]. Congratulations to our very happy winner, Maria T, who has already collected her prize. Our thanks also to the volunteers who worked on our stall today, and Helping Hands Coomera who sponsored our stall. What a super successful day! Over 1200 people attended today, and we were able to raise some much needed funds to support our students here at Cooomera State School. To the many parents and staff members who attended today and supported our stall or simply said hello - THANK YOU! It was wonderful to see our local community so involved. Congatulations to the organiser, Coomera Country Market - we look forward to the next market!
