20.01.2022 "For 60,000 years or more first peoples of this land, sustained by Country, Dreamtime told by word and artist’s hand." Choirs unite to perform a fresh take on the national anthem at the Desert Song Festival.

19.01.2022 Highlights from last Saturday's musical feast when The Balkanics - high voltage Balkan flavoured funky jazzy dance band - entertained the vibrant crowd at Cooran Hall! 18.01.2022 Dear beloved punters! Just as a precaution the Cooran Hall Committee have made the decision to cancel the next Cooran Acoustic Night (this Saturday 21 March) to keep our most precious members of society (musicians and music lovers) safe from COVID-19! While practicing at home, see if you can be the first to find a sonic cure for the pandemic via some wildly dischordent screeching or a yet to be discovered higher vibrational register! And remember - music transcends - it will nourish you deeply over the coming months and help you connected, even in a state of isolation. See you on the flip side and remember... You CAN too! Please share this post far and wide.

17.01.2022 The one and only Cooran Acoustic Night is on again in 3 weeks' time (Saturday 21 March) for more of this... Photos are highlights from the incredible variety of local talent at last months' CAN... The aromatic south-east Asian vego curry prepared by Cooran Hinterland Home School group was also out of this world (thanks Natalie Duggin for your talent at blending flavours!). Remember, this is a place to have a go at expressing yourself so, before you talk yourself out of it, get practising! Because... You CAN too!

16.01.2022 Bit of inspiration for budding musicians out there.... this guy couldn't sing a note and after years of working hard at it, he's found his lane as a musician...

15.01.2022 Let's try that again with the right date...ahem... #cooranacousticnight #whatsonnoosa #noosamusicevent #livemusiccooran #whatsonfebruary2020sunshinecoast

06.01.2022 Who's in! The Balkanics play high-energy music from the Balkans (especially Macedonia). The music is energetic, infectious and very danceable. As well as traditional tunes, many of them Gypsy or Roma in origin, their original compositions are inspired by many years of studying, playing and living these most vibrant of musical cultures. Featuring five accomplished musicians who have been playing together in different combinations for several decades, The Balkanics will intoxic...ate you, the hypnotic energy of their improvisations dragging you onto the dance floor. Cast away your worldly woes and be transported to a universe inhabited by extravagant rhythmic variation and catchy melodic invention. See more
