18.01.2022 BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD | Today marks the commencement of the statutory Bush Fire Danger Period - which extends from the 1st of October through to the 31st of March next year. We need your help so we can help you! Residents in our region should have preparations well on their way for the fire season. We urge residents to review or complete a Bush Fire Survival Plan and ensure that everyone in your household knows what to do on days of increased fire danger and if their home i...s threatened by fire. With summer conditions becoming increasingly warmer and more conducive to the spread of fire, people need to be extremely vigilant when using fire. NEVER leave a fire unattended - if a fire does escape, it is essential that you call Triple Zero (000) immediately so that emergency services can respond as quickly as they can to minimise the spread and damage that the fire may cause. During the Bush Fire Danger Period, you are also required to obtain a Fire Permit if you wish to have a fire in the open on your property. Fire Permits can be freely obtained from the NSW Rural Fire Service - Central Coast District or Fire and Rescue NSW, depending on where you live. Send us a message here on Facebook, or contact our local office on 1300 060 807 (Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30) to discuss your requirements. We strongly encourage residents to routinely check the NSW Rural Fire Service website for the daily Fire Danger Rating - www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fdr
