07.01.2022 Dear Parent/Guardian, Cooran State School will be holding the Day for Daniel FUNraiser as a major fundraising event this year on the Friday 30th October. We encourage all students, parents, staff and community members to please wear RED to celebrate the Day for Daniel. We will be holding a Splash, Colour & Dash event (similar to the Colour Run) A note with further details will be sent home soon. We are doing it in support of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, with funds helpi...ng them achieve their mission of keeping kids safe in Australia! How Does My Child Fundraise? All fundraising is completed online, so please create your profile at d4dFUNraiser.com.au. Share your link through social media, email and even text. As a bonus, all donations are tax deductable! For raising just $10, students will receive a reward for their effort. The more they raise, the better the reward! Remember, the money raised will help the Daniel Morcombe Foundation raise awareness, so please share your fundraising link far, wide and often! It will guarantee the best results. About the Day for Daniel FUNraiser The Day for Daniel FUNraiser promotes awareness for child safety while raising funds for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. The Foundation works tirelessly to educate communities on child safety strategies and support victims of crime involving children. We’re supporting by holding a Day for Daniel FUNraiser and we hope you will support us by participating in both the fundraising and the day itself. What will the money raised go towards? This year the Foundation is hoping to raise $150,000, which will allow them to create a new educational program called ‘Keeping Safe With Morky’. This program can educate millions of Australian children, so we hope we can help them get there! If not, the money raised certainly won’t be wasted. In fact, $1,000 provides counselling for one young victim of crime, $2,000 - funds 20 schools with resources to help Keep Kids Safe and $25,000 funds the creation of one Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson, which is free for everyone and educates children on relevant child safety. Ordering Prizes ALL PRIZES MUST BE ORDERED ONLINE Make sure you keep an eye on the website, as it will tell you when to order your prizes. If you have any questions, please call the FUNraiser team on 1800 386 786. Head to danielmorcombe.com.au for anymore details. Thank you, good luck and happy fundraising!

05.01.2022 Our resident possum decided to come out to say hello today.

05.01.2022 Christmas convoy connects Noosa A festive convoy of Christmas cheer will come to life over four nights through Noosa this December. The Connecting Noosa Christmas Convoy aims to bring the Christmas spirit to local families and recognise the efforts of our emergency services following one of the most challenging 12 months.... It’s so exciting to be able to bring the festive cheer to the front yards of our residents, Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart said. The convoy is an initiative of Noosa Council with the support of Noosa’s local emergency services. Corporate partners HOT91 and Cricks Noosa have also jumped onboard. Cr Stewart said the convoy aims to spread the Christmas cheer in a COVIDSafe way in what’s been a challenging year. It’s unfortunate that many of the regular community Christmas events can’t go ahead due to the pandemic restrictions, but hopefully this will ensure we can all enjoy the Christmas spirit with our neighbours and family, Cr Stewart said. The convoy runs from Monday December 7 to Thursday December 10. Maps of the routes are available on Council’s website and will be promoted via Council’s social media channels and HOT91. https://www.noosa.qld.gov.au/christmas-convoy The convoy starts in Boreen Point and Cooroibah on Monday night December 7 and moves to Kin Kin, Cooran, Pomona and Cooroy on Tuesday. It travels through parts of Tewantin on Wednesday December 10, followed by the beachside suburbs of Peregian, Castaways and Sunrise Beach on Thursday afternoon December 11. Noosa Police Inspector Ben Carroll said it’s a thrill to be involved in such a unique COVIDSafe event. We jumped at the chance to be part of the convoy because it’s a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas with our community, he said. Our officers and all emergency service providers have been tested through last year’s bushfires and during the pandemic shutdown.

05.01.2022 To all of our wonderful teachers at Cooran.
