22.01.2022 Alan John Taylor 6 hours ago Alan John Taylor Hi guys, am figuring you are very busy, is everything under control with today's fire? What is the... exact location please? Cheers Cooroibah Rural Fire Brigade a few seconds ago Cooroibah Rural Fire Brigade Hi Alan.. We had a busy day indeed. The fire has been contained where it was burning southwards along the western side of Lake Cooroibah. The front moving Northwest towards the upper Noosa River is still going strong along the northern shore of the river. We have unconfirmed reports it may have jumped the river north of Johns Landing earlier this evening. If it has it will be moving mostly westwards along the southern side of the river. That will most likely have to be dealt with once the fire becomes accessible tomorrow. I am not sure of the status of the front on the eastern shore of Lake Cooroibah. I hope this helps. Stay Safe.

21.01.2022 Cooroibah RFB will be conducting a burnoff at Jirrima Crescent today.

20.01.2022 A controlled burn-off to reduce fuel loads.

19.01.2022 Some smoke may be seen over Doonan and Tinbeerwah this today, as Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service conduct a controlled burn at Doonan. A reminder that V...ehicles must slow down, keep windows up and turn headlights on when driving around smoke affected areas Sightseers must keep away for their own safety People with respiratory (or other health) conditions should take reliever medicine for smoke inhalation and seek medical advice Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke from entering homes Ensure pets have a protected area See more

14.01.2022 Here is a some photos of our last job at the Junction road wildfire last month. This tree was a firey tourch that no hose was going to put out. We had to let it burn. Sorry I did not get any photos of the actual fire. Suffice to say we were far too busy to take any photos while the fire was uncontrolled.

14.01.2022 A small stack burn on Silverwood.

14.01.2022 Attended a 000 call at Yatama Place on Friday. Both trucks responded and we arrived in time to do a case 1 attack. The fire was quickly halted around 20 meters from the property owners house. Please be careful in the hot dry weather. Thanks to all who helped at the scene.

12.01.2022 News item UPDATE: Noosa North Shore backburning operation as at 11am 18/12/2012 11:06:26 AM... The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) in conjunction with the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will continue to conduct major backburning operations in the Beach Road area and around Teewah village, between Noosa North Shore and Teewah in response to a large vegetation fire burning in the Cooloola Recreation Area of the Great Sandy National Park. These operations will continue this afternoon and into the evening. Residents have been notified of firefighting operations happening in their area. There is no threat to properties but a smoke hazard will continue to impact the surrounding area. Smoke is expected to linger in the area until Friday. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and drive to conditions as visibility is low in some areas. Please obey the instructions of emergency crews. Residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed and, if they suffer from respiratory illnesses, keep medication close by. If residents believe their home is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Contact for media enquiries: DCS media unit on (07) 3635 3310.

12.01.2022 We had a busy day and worked long into the evening. At this stage the fire on the southern side of the Noosa River near Tronson's Drain has been contained. National Parks and Wildlife Crews plus our 2 Trucks put in a solid days work and we will check on the fire tomorrow to unsure no re-ignition occurs. Thanks, Cooroibah RFB.

11.01.2022 Cooroibah Rurals are on track for a permanent fire shed. We have a block on Greengate Road marked and waiting for the paperwork to go through.

11.01.2022 I believe the RFB & Parks & Wildlife Back-Burned from Teewah Landing Track this morning. The smoke plume has been visible all day and tonight the night sky was glowing red. This should mean the end of the North Shore incident when the back-burn meets with the main fire front. The Cooroibah RFB have had a quiet day with just a few patrols to check our side of the Noosa River. Our area had several mm of rain last night that dampened things locally.

10.01.2022 If anyone from the Cooroibah area would like become apart of the Cooroibah Rural Fire Brigade please contact QFES on 54207517

02.01.2022 The recent meeting to show community support for the Cooroibah brigade coming home Thanks Tinbeerwah, it’s been fun (except for last summer which was fun for no one) but we are returning to the Community where we began. Back in the Hood and serving the local community. We will keep u posted on official permissions for us from QFES which are progressing now. Hope to be seeing u in 2021

02.01.2022 We have been kept busy with the remnants of the North Shore fire for the past week. The swamps are dry and the ground is smoldering where there once was water. Nothing too serious as long as a close eye is kept on things. Also a Happy New Year to all from Cooroibah Rural Fire Brigade and best wishes for 2013.
