25.01.2022 Evening all Junior team nominations are looming fast. To help our club out with this process, if your child/children are interested in playing junior cricket please jump on playcricket.com.au and register to play for Cooroy. There is an option in the last stage of registration to select to only pay the players insurance rather than the full registration fee. If this is the right option for you at the moment please do so to assist us with team nominations. Cheers Wazza
24.01.2022 Parents could you please consider holding off buying new helmets for your kids until after the 30th September. We have applied for funding that will allow us to provide every junior team with a full team set of helmets with Cougar badges. The funding will be confirmed before the 30th Sept. We don't know if we will be successful - so no promises - but if possible, could you stick with last season's helmet until the 30th September?
24.01.2022 Evening All We will continue Junior Cricket training throughout the school holidays. Wednesday afternoons 3.30pm-5.30pm... See you all there Cheers Wazza

16.01.2022 Another hot Saturday morning for the U12’s, and after losing the toss we were sent in to bat. Adrian led the team out and ended up with an unbeaten 49 runs of 48 balls, and six batters retiring after the allotted deliveries. An excellent team effort saw us post 126 runs for Coolum to chase. With Coolum chasing a good total, they were quick to post some runs, with Will making the first breakthrough in the 5th over. The scoring rate slowed enough with some excellent fielding, a...nd great catches from Will and Kaelen. Adrian and Kaelen also took 2 wickets, halting Coolum total to 122. Great effort by both teams in very hot conditions. Cooroy 5/126 defeated Coolum 7/122 Well done cougars!!!!

16.01.2022 The U12’s battled the hot conditions at Palmwoods on Saturday morning, but unfortunately couldn’t hold the Palmwoods batting lineup. Our batting was excellent, with only four wickets taken. Our fielding and bowling was excellent, taking 8 wickets, and several boundaries were saved. Palmwoods 8/162 defeated Cooroy 4/127... Better luck next time.

14.01.2022 The first U12 game of the season was played at Cooroy today, but unfortunately Maroochydore Red was too good. The rain stayed away long enough! Captain Carys lead the team well, with a Great effort by Oliver(64), Adrian(24), and Lennox(24 n/o) with the bat, whilst Kaelen(4), Lennox(2), and Alison(1) where the wicket takers! Great team effort by all, and thanks to Brett our coach!
13.01.2022 U13 CEJC had a great win today. Players were exceptional with the bat and ball to win by more than 40 runs. It was revealed later, that the bribery of a slurpy for a win was a coaching stroke of brilliance. Especially with the 7/11 less than 200 yards away. Aiden was man of the match for his running between the wickets and this was closely followed by Phoenix who announced to the huge crowd, I am here to bat hitting numerous runs. His parents now have to supply him slu...rppies for the rest of the year for each four he hit. Well done and see you at training.
13.01.2022 Please let Rob know if you are available

11.01.2022 For the last game of spring, it sure felt like summer! The U12’s played Maroochydore Blue, and whilst fielding first and getting 8 wickets, the total of 181 was too great for our young Cougars. Max, Charlie, and Adrian all took 2 wickets, with Will taking an awesome catch! The run chase was set... Our openers both retired after the allotted deliveries, with 2 more retiring further in the innings. The highest scorer for the day was Kaelan on 29 not out, with Adrian, Preston, W...ill and Max all posting double figures. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the runs flowing fast enough, and ran out of overs... A valiant effort by all, and hold your heads up high! Well played Cougars! Maroochydore Blue (8/181) defeated Cooroy (6/136)
10.01.2022 Congratulations to Clancy Young on being selected in the U14 summer carnival team, go well Clancy
10.01.2022 Big congratulations to Angus Hetherington and Joe Murray who were part of the Sunshine Coast 12 years Schools cricket side that won the State Championship in Toowoomba, this past week. Well done lads! Great to see these young Cougars performing well at representative level.

All the best for the Weekend Johnny Hope
09.01.2022 Another beautiful day for some junior cricket. Our U12’s won the toss and elected to field against Coolum. Our bowling and fielding was excellent with several boundaries stopped. With the bat we unfortunately couldn’t chase down the required runs. The field was in excellent condition, and many family and friends were there to support the team, and to eat Rob’s bacon & egg rolls! Thank you to all the spectators there cheering on the team, and supporting our club! Go Cougars!!... Coolum 5/121 defeated Cooroy, all out for 101... better luck next week!

08.01.2022 The Cooroy Eumundi Cricket Club Committee would like to extend a huge thank you to Warren Smith for all the work and time he has put into the club over the past few years, particularly over the past 6 months. Warren spent a significant amount of time in the off-season rejuvenating the centre square on Sel Bonnell oval, the results of this effort have been enjoyed by all who have had the joy of playing on the turf at the cougars home ground. The condition of the outfields on b...oth grounds and the general landscaped areas around the clubfacilities have also recieved a great deal of attention from Warren and a trusty crew of volunteers. Many players at the club: junior or senior, men or women, old or new, have had the benifit of receiving coaching and skills developing from Warren, along with being Senior Coordinator and Coach at the cougars for the past two seasons. Warren also coached a junior U12 team in 2019/20 and spent many hours feeding the ball machine or wanging deliveries at batters to help us all improve our game. With the addition of our inaugural Women"s side to the playing ranks, Warren undertook the critical coaching role to assist in developing the newest members of our Cougars community. Such volunteering efforts are only possible with the support of family, so we would like to extend a huge thank you to Penny, Jaxon and Kaylee. Unfortunately competing priorities and personal commitments have required Warren to adjust how he allocates his time. As a result he has had to step away from his roles at the cricket club. Whilst it is with great sorrow that we communicate these changes we are thankful for the wonderful memories and personal moments that Warren left us through his work for the Cougars. Thanks very much Wazza and good luck with your future endeavours.
