25.01.2022 Hi Guy's, here is the brand new 25 Chief for a local Abalone diver in 3C Survey. It is fitted with twin 200 hp Yamaha's, we were very impressed by the cruising speed of 32-34 mph @ 4200 rpm & she topped out @ 58 mph . She weighed in just under 3500 kg. The hull weight was 1650 kg, Trailer 810 kg, Yamaha's with wiring & batteries were around 600 kg + tank off gas 390 kg . Once these boats are rigged up with stainless and electronics they will go around 3600-3800 kg, so they are on the heavy side when it comes to towing .

25.01.2022 Hi Guys & Girls, have a happy, safe Christmas & New Year. Happy boating & greater fishing.

24.01.2022 Hi Guys, Luke and Mark had a great weekend racing against some of the best teams in the country, in a stock standard Villain. Here is a couple pics.

23.01.2022 Our friend Clyde Thomas's first trip to Gabo Island in the brand new Cootacraft 25 Chief center console since the car crash that left him a quadriplegic 30 years earlier. We got a nice feed of fish and abs for him that he loves.

23.01.2022 Merry Xmas to everyone. It has been one crazy year. First the Fires and then Covid. Let's all enjoy a much needed break and family time. Looking forward to hopefully a much better and normal year in 2021. ... We wish you all a wonderful and safe Christmas with loved ones. See you all in the New Year. The Cootacraft Team

23.01.2022 Hi Guys, here is the new 28 Boss ready for rigging. Simon @ Race Marine will fit 2 x 300hp Mercs, best dealer for Mercury by far, stands by his product every day of the week. This was made for an abalone diver to 3C Maritime Survey. The hull came in @ 1750 kg, by the time it is all rigged with engines, batteries, wiring, belly full of fuel 650L, compressors, hoses, stainless, safety gear, trailer, etc she will be around 4100-4200 kg. Savage Trailers as always made another perfect trailer for this hull rated to 4500 kg, Thank you Ben.

22.01.2022 Hi Guys, we have one or two of these Bad Boys available for an upgrade or for the future new boat build.

22.01.2022 First Boss in a Hard Top out of Coota, just about ready for fit up. Windows, Mercury's , Stainless etc. Will put more pics up once it is all dressed up. Each Boss is custom made to each customers needs, Fish-Work or Race model. This hull is super versatile.

22.01.2022 Hi guys, here is a couple of Bad Boys going to good homes, both fitted with long range tanks. Furuno, Suzuki and Savage Trailers all fitted up by RM Marine.

22.01.2022 Hi Guys, here is the size difference between the old school 17c Haines vs the new 28 Boss. Yes the owner of the 17 cut & shut the old Gunshot top to fit his project, it came up pretty good for a back yard rebuild . This new 28 will be fitted with the latest V8 from Mercury, 2 x 300 Pro XS & all the latest from Furuno electronics.

21.01.2022 Hi Guys, here is a couple more build pics of the 28 Boss to 3C Survey. The 650L tank was made out of 4mm Marine grade aluminium & pressure tested for 24 hours @ 4 psi. The hull is fully foam filled to MSV specs. Boss also features notched transom for better top end.

21.01.2022 Hi guy's, here it is, one of those days when we have to say good by to the boat that we've loved so much over the last couple of years. Got us home safe every time, never let us down, never missed a beat. Got us lots of dinners & lunches with heaps of laughs. Won lots of races, and also never came second. I hope the new owner will look after it Like we did. Also had a new heart transplant from the Mighty Merc to Yamaha.

20.01.2022 Hi Guys, Long time in the making, but finally we have completed the molds for our new & final model, The Boss. It is 28 foot by 8 foot wide, with 24 degree deep V. The Boss will be built into Maritime Survey. The first hull will be used as a commercial abalone boat . Also would like to say thank you to Meg & Mel for preparing the molds to absolute perfection. I will put a lot more pics of the build of The Boss as we go along.

20.01.2022 Villain does what it was made for spearfishing & mixing it up with the big boys every now & then.

20.01.2022 Hi Guys, we finally got power, the army brought big generators into town, thank you. Weve just about finished cleaning up all the mess around the workshop, had to re wax every mould, bugger, but they look better then before. We got a call from Travis to help two Journalists from France, they wanted to come to Mallacoota to do a story on the fires & Patrick the koala man. But the only way in was by water so Patrick & I went to pick them up. The trip to Eden when we left w...as only 20-25 knots S/W, by the time we picked them up & got back around Cape Howe it got very interesting, wind against current & gusting up to 47 knots S/W haha. I loved it, boat loved it, cant say that for my passengers, here is a couple of pics of their trip. The Villain got a little air, I dont want to estimate how long was the jump, or how high, but with the throttle in neutral for about 3-4 seconds , it got very quiet for a moment just the wind passing by we ended up in Coota a little bit late & little bit wet no injuries to the hull or my passengers so overall all good trip . 17.01.2022 Mark & Luke Webb in their Blue Villain last Sunday.

17.01.2022 Savaged Trailers have moved to New bigger premises. Any one looking for a custom aluminium trailer for their new project or new boat. I highly recommend their product, the man behind them & his team who stand by their product 110% percent, & provide the best after care I have ever seen. So big thumbs up from Cootacraft.

16.01.2022 Hi Guy's, we had a great weekend with Paul and Tim. They had a great fishing session, few beers after and at the same time did the time trial. Due to the conditions both of us couldn't beat the Villains previous time of 17.23. Both boats went really well for the sea conditions, Tim had a blast driving his gorgeous Edencraft 233 and Mark took his mate in the Villain, I think he had a good time too!

15.01.2022 Hi Guy's & Girls, have a happy, safe Christmas & New Year. Happy boating & greater fishing.

15.01.2022 Hi Guy's, Mark started the Mallacoota - Gabo Island Challenge. It's not a race, Every body is welcome to bring their boat to have a time trial for fun & have their time recorded. The town needs all the support we can get after the Fires and then the Virus. Come for a weekend, do a bit of fishing and do a fun time trial at the same time. The run is 18.5 mile long, so far we set a time of 18 mins and 58 sec.

15.01.2022 Hi Guy's & Girl's, Mallacoota still has a long way to recover from the fires, over 120 homes lost around town. Local business, well they are also badly effected, not much trading went on this summer so hopefully a lot of people come over this coming Easter for them. As for Cootacraft, well we are back in full swing now after the biggest clean up we had to do. We also just finished the last mold for the 25 Chief runabout & hard top version. So in 2020 every Chief & Boss is built to MSV standards, some might even get the exemption to 2C. I will know a little bit more about it in the next few months. The first Boss hull hit just under 70 mph & cruised @ 51 mph @ 4100 rpm.

14.01.2022 Hi Guy's, fishing this winter has been unreal out of Coota. We had a good run of Tuna & now these little guy's have turned up.

13.01.2022 Hi Guy's, we have one or two of these Bad Boys available for an upgrade or for the future new boat build.

13.01.2022 Villain, what a package on a gorgeous Savage Trailer, powered by the latest Mercury 300R supplied & fitted by Race Marine. With a 450L fuel tank, she should be able to travel a 420 mile round trip on a single tank of juice @ 4200 rpm traveling @ 40-42 mph and top out 60 mph +

13.01.2022 Hi Guy's here is a quick clip of the last race 2019 Hervey Bay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmJGTBW3VDA&t=27s

13.01.2022 Can't beat them, may as well join them. The new V8 Mercury is our choice of power on all Cootacraft hulls, they deliver performance, reliability & fuel efficiency. We highly recommend them to all our customers.

Patrick, the famous Koala saver on the Go Pro, french reporters having the trip of the life time, and all safe and sound. As per usual the video doesnt do justice to the actual sea conditions, but any how here is a quick clip of the trip.

05.01.2022 What a package! 25 Center Console, an American Classic now built here. We have spent 6 hours running in the Nizpro 450hp. What a machine, cruises @ 40 mph using 42L per hour & tops out @ cool 63 mph with stock 21 Yamaha prop @ 6300 rpm (@ 63mph was quite expensive to hold there for more than 10 sec!). We are going to try Mercury 21 Rev4 this coming weekend.Test boat was fully loaded with 650 liters on board. Big thanks to Ben Savage for building another great custom trailer, and Simon from Nizpro for being in touch with us over the weekend while we were water testing his 450hp master piece. Like to say thank you for all the text massages and check ups on Mel and my self we are going ok still very tired from no sleep and smoke around town its clearing up slowly. 56 families lost their homes we are so sorry for their losses every time you see homes burned to ashes makes me a little guilty that our factory is still standing we made sure to put sprinklers around the shop and inside we moved all the moulds all ...over the town some on our block some at friends place and the big ones close to water ready to sink them if we had to. As for Cootacraft well we be back in business in 2-3 weeks we also need a lot of work around the shop move all the moulds back to the shop. And yes I finally got ice in my esky so nice cold beer for me tonight here some pics whats been going on just around our shop stay safe Australia not a happy times at the moment. See more
