22.01.2022 MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR On behalf of Coota Darts we would like to wish all our players and supporters a Merry and Safe Christmas and a Happy New Year. This year has no doubt been a difficult one for all and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support in helping getting competition darts back up and running once again in Coota. Thank you to all those that played, especially those that traveled from neighbouring towns and villa...ges to join in on the action. Thank you to all our supporters that shared a post or 2, came down and spectated, assisted with our bush fire relief fundraiser, those that assisted and cooked with our Grand Final bbq, those that helped set up and pulled down boards on game day and lastly to the Mitchell family and staff at the Albion Hotel for giving us a venue to play at once again. Next year we will look at doing a 4 or 6 person teams comp (minimum of 4 teams to start comp). Also depending on Covid situation we will see if we can resume on Friday nights. Coming in 2021 we will have a new stubby holder and Schooner holder for purchase. If anyone would like their business name or logo on it please inbox us. Until then, once again thank you everyone for your support and have a safe and happy holidays. See more
22.01.2022 A few remaining Coota Darts Stubby Holders for sale. $8 each. 6x Yellow and 2x Grey and Yellow. All proceeds go back to the players.
20.01.2022 We are sadden to hear the news of the passing of Basil The Milkman King this morning. Basil was a staple figure in Coota Darts for a number of decades and was both a gentleman both on and off the board. Basil would always talk about darts no matter where he was whether he be at pool comps, having a punt or while doing his grocery shop. We would like to send our thoughts and prays to his family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace.

18.01.2022 5 WEEK COMP We have 4 ideas for a quick comp to see out 2020. #1 To keep in the 5 theme one idea is 5 players per side. Format will be 1xTriples, 1xDoubles and 5xSingles. Players will be ranked 1-5 and must have a minimum of 2 ladies per team.... #2 Next idea is to merge some of our teams and play 6’s. Eg Icehouse & Bandits, Farmers & Stock etc. Format will be 2xTriples, 3xDoubles and 6xSingles. Games will not be ranked and winning will come down to smart team strategy by the captain. (Team can have up to 8 players but can’t play more then 3 games or same eg Can’t play both triples etc.) #3 Another idea would to be hold Championships for those that played during the comp. Week 1 - Mixed Triples and Mixed Doubles Week 2 - Men’s and Ladies Doubles Week 3 - Men’s and Ladies Triples Week 4 - Men’s and Ladies Singles Week 5 - Men’s and Ladies Double Start 301 and just for fun, Open Around the Board Singles. #4 Lastly just Social Darts, blind drawn doubles, singles etc. Please comment or inbox which idea you like, your availability and we will do our best to try and accommodate for all. Eg Play every 2nd weekend or 2 in a row then 2 off etc.
18.01.2022 NEXT COMP As we finished our comp yesterday we now turn our attention to the next comp. The idea is to have a short competition finishing up before Christmas. Current ideas being thrown around are:- *A 6 or 4 per side, having A-Grade players in seperate teams and having a blind draw to make up teams.... *Having equal men and ladies in each side. *A doubles comp with teams being blind drawn at start. *Changing back to Friday nights. (Depending on COVID regulations). Any idea is more then welcome as it’s all about having a comp that appeals to everyone. Please feel free to message us or drop a comment below. See more
17.01.2022 #throwbackthursdays 21/2/2003 Cootamundra Darts Association Presentation Night award winners. Special mention to the late, Vi Taylor and John Scrivener on receiving Hall Of Fame inductions for their contributions to Coota Darts both on and off the board especially Scrivey who was one of the longest serving committee members of Cootamundra holding different positions such as Club President throughout the 80’s, also was a founder of Harden Darts Association and received a Coota Life Membership in 1986.
17.01.2022 COMP GRAND FINAL Would players like the final to be live streamed across the internet? Start C - Grade final at a certain time, then B Grade, then A -Grade? In the old Coota Comp final day the divisions had a designated start time so all could sit and enjoy the day before and after they had to play. Just an idea.... If we build it, they will come. In this case, If we stream it, they will watch. . See more

17.01.2022 Thanks to all that responded to the idea of a 5 week comp. Sadly we didn’t have enough numbers to do something so we will have to cancel our end of year comp. We will try and arrange 1 last social day before Xmas to send off the year. Next year we will have a meeting in regards to next comp whether to do 3’s again or merge teams into 6’s. Any ideas are more then welcome.
16.01.2022 2021 AUTUMN COMP We are now taking nominations for our next comp starting March 6th. Comp will once again be 3 a side teams. Nominations close Feb 28th. Comp will be played on Saturdays from 12.30pm kick off. ... Comp will be played if we have a minimum of 4 teams. The Ex-Services Club and the Albion Hotel are happy to host teams. (Club can host 2 teams and Albion can host 8 teams. ) If other venues would like to host a side comp will be a home and away format with a venue holding a team each week or every second week - depending on amount of teams playing from that venue. This time round singles will be played first, then doubles and followed by a teams game if required. Nominations can be commented here or sent via inbox. Any further questions please comment or inbox us. See more

15.01.2022 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST 2 of our players, Fad and Chook came up with an idea of holding a Coota Darts Reunion for past and present players when restrictions ease back. Just a day to sit back, catch up with old mates reminisce of yesteryear about such things like how dominant the Globe Zodiacs were or the time in the 80’s when the NSW State Men’s team challenged Coota’s best and only just beat Coota. Most likely be a bbq or finger food and most likely a couple of friendly games on the board. If anyone is interested please comment and hopefully we can get this idea off the ground.
14.01.2022 QUICK UPDATE Thanks to those that have commented and messaged us in regards to comp. Going off some of the availabilities the current weekends to play are 7/11,14/11, 21/11 & 19/12. If we ran a teams comp, whether it be 5 or 6 a side it would have to be a 4 teams only to finish on time. Championships or social darts could easily be organised for those dates.... If championships, they will be open which means you can pick your partners, turn up and see if anyone wants a partner or use our posts to ask other players. Social Darts would be blind drawn partners or singles games depending on numbers. We will aim(pun intended) to start on the 7th November so please organise teams or let us know what you would like to do by the 4th November so we can start to plan. See more

13.01.2022 #throwbackthursday 14th September 1981. One of Coota Darts greats, Allan Kelleher was in fine form in the Coota Championships. He won the Singles over Tony Cooper, won the mixed Doubles with Debbie Cowled and was runners up in the men’s doubles with his uncle Neville Kelleher going down in the final leg against Dennis Smee and Paul Crowe.

10.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday 7/5/2003 NSW Country Darts Championships The event saw top players travelling from Wagga, Cobar, Forbes, Parkes, Dubbo, Young, Springdale, ACT and Coota to participate in the event held at the RSL and Albion Hotel. The Event started with a blind drawn doubles at the Albion on Friday with a singles event and doubles event held over Saturday and Sunday at the Ex-Services Club.... Some of Coota’s players made it into the final of these events which is good to see considering the talent that was present over the weekend. Article also mentions the Legends tournament which seen former Coota players:- Steve Makings, Shirley Lopez and current players:- Phill and Narelle Sellick which participated in the event. A Legends tournament (for 45 years +) was meant to come to Coota later that year hopefully we can find an article in that. See more
09.01.2022 2021 COMP Hi everyone, hope you had a enjoyable Christmas. We are now taking a expression of interest in what to do for our next comp. 3 suggestions are:- keep current 3 a side format... 4 a side 6 a side In order to run next comp we would need a minimum of 4 teams to do so. Some people have asked if we could do like the old comps and have different venues, home and away format. I believe this can work providing the venue has a playable set up to do so. Please vote by using the like emojis -3 per side - 4 per side - 6 per side. And as always any feedback or ideas is more then welcome. See more

02.01.2022 ROUND 5 & 6 RESULTS Firstly I must say I think I speak for all players, how good is it to be back at darts! After a quick meeting, everybody was keen to toe up to the oche once again. The general consensus of the day was that everyone seemed to handle the new COVID playing rules well and slowly we can seen restrictions easing back to some normality. Until rules are fully relaxed our new darting day is now Saturday. Hopefully when new comp starts we can resume back on ...Continue reading
