04.01.2022 Unpopular opinion: Any breed can and should be fit and/or Conditioned. ***Pet weight is also acceptable*** It's especially important for puppies to NOT carry an...y excess weight as it's hard on their still growing joints and overall health. Did you know dogs who are kept lean and fit tend to live 2 years longer than their overweight counterparts? Us as a culture need to stop thinking that these fit dogs are abused or "too skinny". We need to stop thinking that overweight and obese pets are cute. Obesity and excess weight is NOT cute. (Yes I do know sometime a medical condition can make a pet overweight. I'm not talking about those dogs. I'm talking about healthy pets that their owners are too ignorant or just don't care.) People are doing a real injustice to their pet when they are allowed to get overweight. Our dogs depend on us for everything. Feeding, exercise, vet care, Etc.
