08.01.2022 Congratulations to grant recipient Emily Potter and best wishes as she starts her journey at the University of Wollongong College. Emily says that she’s always had an interest in health and fitness but didn’t know if Uni was the right fit for her. However, finding this pathway course into Uni was a great opportunity to realise her dream of becoming a qualified personal trainer. This qualification will then allow her to apply for a sports and exercise science degree. She is looking forward to a practical and hands on approach to learning with highly qualified trainers and is very much looking forward to starting her new chapter in life at University of Wollongong College. We wish her all the very best!

02.01.2022 Local students off to Uni. Five Cootamundra school-leavers are about to start their University degrees supported by the Cootamundra and District Country Education Foundation. All were successful applicants to the CEF and have been awarded grants spread over two years to help with education-related expenses including laptops, textbooks, transport, and campus accommodation. Pictured left to right: Shelby Nicka, Oliver Litchfield, Harry Tiernan, Chloe Sargant (Brooke Dodwell ab...sent). Shelby is enrolled in a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) degree at CSU Wagga Wagga and would like to eventually work in a primary school. Oliver and Chloe are both off to the University of Wollongong and will be living on campus. Oliver is studying Arts/International Studies and is looking forward to travelling overseas, especially Eastern Europe, learning local history and languages as well as getting involved in humanitarian work. Chloe is enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce with a goal to work in the accounting field. They are both excited about moving into Uni accommodation next week and starting Orientation Week. Harry is enrolled in a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of NSW with a view to transferring to dentistry and would like to eventually own his own dental practice in regional NSW. He will also be living on campus and is looking forward to the move, although he is understandably nervous about moving to Sydney and starting University life. Brooke Dodwell (not pictured) is studying Animal Science at CSU Wagga Wagga. The CEF committee wish them the very best with their studies and hope they enjoy everything that University has to offer.
