19.01.2022 With additional social distancing, self-isolation, school closures and working from home pressures, there are new stresses for educators, families, and caregivers of young children, and children themselves. This not only relates to health concerns, but also the prospect of establishing new routines and changing dynamics at home and at your early learning centre. Read these tips from ECA on creating a learning environment at home for children to continue learning.

17.01.2022 Today our Preschool children visited Jubilee Park and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They loved climbing the rock wall, going down the slides, and going on the flying fox. What an amazing day the children have had and I think there will definitely be some tired little people after today’s excursion #celc

06.01.2022 Your Trash is our Treasure As we move further into developing sustainable practises within the service we have come up with a few projects that require old household items to help it come to life. Most households will conduct a clean out or decluttering from time to time and we are here to say we would love to use your old unwanted or unused house hold items here at CELC! *disclaimer- all items will need to be in good condition and good working order or will not be accepted. ...They must also be clean and free from grime, dirt or mould. We will also conduct thorough cleaning before using them within the service. Items that we are looking for include but are not limited to: Old office electronics (without cords) - keyboards, mouse, monitor, telephones, mobile phones (no smartphones), fax machines etc Pots, pans and stainless steel kitchen items Tea pots (preferably metal), cutlery, measuring cups, scoops Recycled or off cuts of wood, pipe, buckets etc (no treated pine) Hub-caps, sinks Bangles, handbags, scarves, hats, gloves, purses, wallets (these items must be from a smoke-free home) Baskets, bowls, wooden trays Pieces of furniture like coffee tables, stools, small chairs (this will need to be checked by Kristen before bringing to CELC for approval) Please note that we won't be accepting toys at this stage as our goal is to spark imagination and play through real life experiences using everyday household items. We ask that you are considerate with your donations as any excess that cannot be used will then be left up to the service to dispose of which then defeats our purpose of being more sustainable. We potentially may reach a stage where if we do have too many items, we will have to decline offers but please know we appreciate your thoughts and contributions nonetheless. We thank you for anything you would like to donate no matter how big or how small. Each item will get a well-loved second life here at CELC. If you are unsure if an item is suitable then please do not hesitate to contact Kristen on (02) 6942 1326.

06.01.2022 Last night our educators attended the NSW Governments Office of the Children's Guardian SAFE Series Workshop held at Young Pre-School. As a part of the workshop, our educators gained knowledge of using the SAFE book series and implement personal safety messages that resonate with children. We were lucky enough to take these books home and add them to our resources, which will be used to promote personal safety for our children for different situations. Thank you Matt and Elleker for presenting the workshop and Young Pre-School for hosting. #celc
