23.01.2022 CGRC goes online with ePlanning Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) will implement the NSW Government’s ePlanning program next month. The ePlanning Program is an initiative of the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. Its primary purpose is to drive the digital transformation of the NSW planning system. As of 15 December, Council will only accept development applications through the planning portal. Council is currently developing information, checklists... and guidance packages to assist applicants navigate the planning portal and ePlanning platform. It is a NSW Government requirement that all NSW Councils use the planning portal from 1 July 2021. CGRC has taken steps to go early and be on the front foot with the implementation of ePlanning. The purpose is to allow transparency, tracking, equitability, and faster processing of Development Applications (DA’s). The Vibe Survey is an independent audit to determine the CGRC Local Government Area’s (LGA) economic performance and highlight areas of concern and potential growth. The survey will clearly explain the severity of Covid-19 on our economy, the nature of l...ocal business sentiment and guidance on economic development programs and planning. 17.01.2022 GUNDAGAI POOL SET FOR NEW SEASON A $35,000 investment to the Gundagai Swimming Pool, will see a reduction in running costs and water usage this season. The local pool has undergone further improvements in the off season this year, with upgrades completed on damaged pipes that will see leakage problems solved. The work included a new stainless-steel pipe installed in the balance tank, replacing a galvanised pipe. The stainless pipe should never need replacing as it will not rust or corrode. A new compressor for the sand filters has been installed along with repairs to the expansion joint replacement on the pools surface. GUNDAGAI - If your Normal Collection Day is Friday 1st January 2021, It will be collected on Monday 4th January 2021. NOTE: Normal collection times may vary. 11.01.2022 DRAFT FLOOD STUDY FOR COOTAMUNDRA ON PUBLIC EXHIBITION Council will shortly commence a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan to look at various options to reduce the risks and damages caused by flooding. Feedback on what flood risks the community are most concerned about and how they would like to see these flooding problems managed, will provide a great starting point for the next stage of the Floodplain Risk Management Process. 10.01.2022 Variety Livvi’s Place at Cootamundra's Albert Park Last week Lisa and Kim from Variety the Children’s Charity visited Cootamundra to conduct community consultation with Council on the new Variety Livvi’s Place Albert Park. They are working with Cootamundra Gundagai Regional Council to design and build an inclusive playspace at Albert Park for the kids and families of the region. Variety Livvi’s Place- Albert Park, Cootamundra will be a place we can all come together, feel... we belong, to play side by side and have fun. Variety met with many children from the local schools, the Mayor and other key stakeholders in Cootamundra to ensure the kids and families share their ideas for their dream playspace and the needs of additional infrastructure to make sure we can all get there, play and stay. Variety were so impressed with the children’s understanding of what true inclusion is. 09.01.2022 Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) residents are reminded that registration to either attend or speak at the Local Government Boundaries Commission public inquiry into the demerger affecting Council is required and due by 23rd October 2020. The Commission is urging people who wish to attend to register early to ensure COVID-19 restrictions are adhered to. To ensure the Commission can accommodate as many speakers and attendees as possible, registration is limited to ...one session per person. The inquiry dates, venues and session times are: Cootamundra 25 November 2020 Cootamundra Ex-Services Club. Session 1 11am-1pm, Session 2 1.45pm-3.30pm, Session 3 4pm-5.30pm. 08.01.2022 FREE MICROCHIPPING FOR YOUR PETS. Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) will be conducting two FREE Microchipping days for Cats and Dogs before the end of this year. Microchipping your pet helps keep them safe. It’s a vital part of their care that you chip them so that if they ever wander away, their chip will reunite them with their family. The procedure is simple and quick and involves a small chip the size of a rice grain being implanted between the shoulder blades.... In NSW, all cats and dogs must be microchipped by 12 weeks old and be lifetime registered by 6 months of age. The free microchipping events will be held in Cootamundra and Gundagai. For pet owners to take advantage of this services Council offices are holding them at time for people to attend after work. In Cootamundra come along with your pet to Albert Park on Thursday 26th November 2020 between 4pm to 7pm. In Gundagai your pet can receive a free microchip on Thursday 3rd December 2020 in Carberry Park between 4pm and 4pm to 7pm. See more

06.01.2022 The South West Slopes Forestry Hub has developed a strategic plan that will assist with planning the softwood industry’s future after the fires and through to 2050 and is now developing a communication strategy. The Hub invites your input via this survey. Please tell us what you know and would like to know about the industry in your region and how you like to receive communication about these plans. The Hub is one of nine regional centres that will each receive $1million ove...r three years to assist with expanding their local industries. The role of the Hub is to undertake the research and studies needed to identify industry constraints and recommend solutions to enable the expansion. A key element of this is community engagement. Hearing the views of local people will help the Hub to understand the interests of the communities and increase awareness of the industry, the facts about softwood plantations and the sector’s contribution to jobs and community wellbeing.
