17.01.2022 A great opportunity for high potential and gifted Year 5 public school students from rural and remote parts of our state next year - they will be eligible to ap...ply for the opportunity class at Aurora College, the NSW Department of Education’s virtual school. I got a chance to see how fantastic Aurora College is when I visited Dunedoo Central School last year, and it was amazing to see how students connect with their teachers and classmates in Aurora’s cutting-edge virtual learning environment. This is such a great opportunity for our regional students, and I’d really encourage parents and carers in regional NSW to visit https://education.nsw.gov.au//selective-high-schoo/year-5 to learn more. Applications are now open and close at 5pm on Friday, 26 June 2020. NSW Nationals Aurora College Sam Farraway MLC Dunedoo Central School

11.01.2022 As we move into Phase 1, please remember to maintain distance when picking up or dropping off your child to school. The following temporary restrictions will also be in place to keep staff and students safe during this period. Only 2 additional adults (parents/visitors) are allowed to be in the front office at any one time. Please wait on the ramp if there are already visitors in the office. ... No parents or visitors in classrooms - please come to the front office or call if you have a message for your child's teacher. School bubblers are turned off for now - please make sure your child has a drink bottle with them at school each day. This can be filled at the water fountains during the day if needed.

11.01.2022 National Sorry Day is held on May 26 each year and is an opportunity for all Australians to reflect on the impact that forcible removal policies (from the mid 1800’s to the 1970’s) have had on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. The first Sorry Day was held in 1998, one year after the ‘Bringing Them Home’ report was tabled in parliament. National Reconciliation week, with the theme ‘In this together’ follows National Sorry Day. ... The anniversary dates which mark National Reconciliation Week are significant milestones for reconciliation: 27 May the 1967 Referendum, and 3 June the High Court Mabo decision. With great respect, we observe both of these important events in our national calendar at CPS. We also recognise and appreciate the richness and contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, along with an understanding of Yindyamarra, has in the lives of many of our students. #inthistogether2020

02.01.2022 A huge thank you to IGA for their generosity and support of Cootamundra Public School! Our school captains were happy to accept a cheque last week on behalf of IGA's community chest program. The money will be used to support our schools breakfast club program - a vital support for many of our students who access the program each morning in order to be ready for learning. IGA are an ongoing supporter of our school and we thank them for their generosity and thoughtfulness!

01.01.2022 Honest conversations, listening to understand and checking-in can make such difference!
