25.01.2022 Harvest Safety Alert Cootamundra-Gundagai and Hilltops LGA’s 28/11/2020 Due to the increased risk of fire in Cootamundra-Gundagai and Hilltops LGA, the NSW Ru...ral Fire Service (NSW RFS) is requesting harvest operators immediately stop and check local weather conditions before deciding whether it is safe to continue harvesting. Those conducting harvesting are advised to do the follow: Stop: Stop Harvesting Operations Check: Check weather conditions, check the grain harvesting guide, and check your equipment. Decide: Only resume operations if safe to do so and regularly reassess the conditions. Under the current conditions, fires will start easily and spread rapidly. They have the potential to threaten life and property, as well as destroying millions of dollars’ worth of crop and equipment. The NSW RFS appreciates the cooperation of farmers on days of heightened fire danger. Stopping harvesting until weather conditions ease lowers the risk of fires breaking out and can prevent a great deal of damage. 22.01.2022 Bad luck to the Striker's, Let's hope the ladies can keep their 2020 season alive.

22.01.2022 Our Twin Town Times, Coota Times Journo, Chris Tan, made the brave move to come across from the other side of the country during a pandemic to help us grow our paper and help strengthen the communities we live in. This afternoon Chris jumped in and spent over 2 hours doing sheep work on one of our owner’s properties. He put his office clothes to one side and borrowed some clothes and shoes and jumped straight in. The so called ‘city’ lad was right at home amongst the sheep, m...aking sure that this year’s lambs were all healthy and ready to thrive with all the feed available in the paddocks. It is fitting that Chris donned a Coota Blues jumper and is holding a Texel lamb, the offspring of a Jindalee Ram from Coota. In the background, the Cunningar silos, a few kilometres to the east of Harden, centre of the best wheat growing land in Australia. To say we are proud of Chris Tan is an understatement. See more
