10.01.2022 Copa Nippers were greeted by a beautiful day at Umina on Sunday. The tide dropped significantly over the day and made for some interesting conditions. Copa had... 8 competitors available, given the holiday period, with everyone doing their best and having a good time. In the u/8s Indi went in the sprint, flags and wade and had a great time in the first carnival for 8yr olds. The u/9s had three girls attending who all put in a Stella effort! Maia competed in the flags and came 4th in her sprint quarter. Grace gave it everything she had, finishing the long swim, and went in the Board, Flags and Sprints. Henrietta finished 10th in her board final, 12th in the long swim and 5th in her sprint semi-final. Grace and Henrietta had a girl from the Lakes who helped them make a board relay team and they were 7th in the final. In the u/10s, Tia went in the sprint and flags, enjoying her second ever carnival for Copa. Cohen was the only U11’s competitor from Copa and provided the highlight of the day coming 5th in the final of the Flags, narrowly missing a medal and his best Carnival result. Cohen competed in swim, board and sprint, he also joined a Terrigal team for the board relay where they came 9th in the final. We had 2 girls in the u/12s, with Matilda competed in swim, board and sprint. Billie also competed in the swim and board, a huge effort for Billie who hasn't regularly attended carnivals. The girls had a girl from the Avoca who helped them make a board relay team and they were 6th in the final. Thank you to Aaron Henry and Ian Harrod for officiating today and Dave Burge and Hannah Langbridge for covering us in Water Safety, without these roles Copa cannot compete. Special thanks to Hannah as she volunteered all day and has no kids competing - true club lady! We look forward to Copa hosting the next Carnival on 31 January, being Branch, and Copa providing big smiles and competitors.

10.01.2022 Don’t forget folks - New Volunteers Information session at 0930 tomorrow Up in the club. Should only take 30 minutes.

09.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our members and supporters

09.01.2022 Saturday 14 November 2020 saw round 1 of the Newcastle Permanent Junior Ironperson Series held at Wamberal Beach. This year Copacabana SLSC was represented in t...he u12 girls race by Matilda Burge. Round 1 was the endurance race held with little help from waves, making the distance of 300-350m swim, 400-450m board, and 500m run feel all the longer. Well done Matilda, hopefully other Nippers may be enticed by the challenge in a months’ time at Umina. If your nipper is interested please email [email protected] for information

06.01.2022 A huge shout out to the Rookies yesterday for doing water safety during point score. The sets were decent and on shore so a few of our younger nippers needed the encouragement to make it through and to know they were safe. We were all very proud of your attitude and the skills you are all developing. Keep up the good work. (A few Rookies missed this photo.. but watch out for the graduation post soon.)
