22.01.2022 Grief can be perceived in many ways and it is a different experience for everyone. Unless you have been touched by grief, it may be difficult to understand what grief entails. For those who are or have experienced grief, the presence of someone you have lost may still be prevalent in your life. Whether you are remembering the good times, reminiscing the hard times or grateful for the experience allowing you to become the person you are today, it still may be hard to let go. At COPE Centre we agree with Nora McInernys belief, that one can move forward but doesnt mean that they have moved on. We promise to create a safe and sensitive environment to assist you in working through this experience.

09.01.2022 Mental health is important. According to the World Health Organization, mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.. We can help you with that.... Our 25 years of experience and counting with individuals, couples and families enables us to offer effective community, individualised, psychological care that can help you better cope with life. You are not alone in this, let us walk with you through.

05.01.2022 Being able to cope with disappointment is so important for good mental health. Too often our go-to is to personalise it and respond with self-criticism, blame ...and shame, which of course makes the disappointment even more devastating. Instead in these moments - these inevitable moments in life - we need complete kindness from ourselves, not criticism. Its acknowledgement of the loss, together with comfort and care that will get us through - much more quickly and with less pain. &. by @mariandrew
05.01.2022 On this day, the 11th of November 1919, the first commemorative minute silence was introduced. As we pay our respects to the many that have sacrificed, we also recognise the trauma that many individuals and families face or have faced due to war. In accordance to the 2010 Australian Defence Force (ADF) Mental Health Prevalence and Wellbeing Study, it was revealed that approximately 8.3% of ADF members will have experienced PTSD in comparison to the general Australian community at 5.2%. COPE Centre is committed to supporting ADF members in their journey to recovery. If you know anyone experiencing difficulties or you yourself are experiencing difficulties, please contact us on 92264726.
