23.01.2022 Our association is being proactive in dealing with Service NSW and the current issues around testing. It may be some time before normal testing resumes.

17.01.2022 For any clients looking to book their test. I’m sure there will be a fairly long wait time, so get in early.

14.01.2022 The NSW Police recently answered this burning question. Copes Driving School still believes the risk is too high to both our students and the broader community to continue lessons, despite this advice from Police as to the legality of it. If going for a drive yourself, you need to consider how necessary it is. Perhaps pair it with doing the shopping or a doctor's appointment, so that you would still be complying with the requirements under current rules. But be conscious of the potential for contact with others in the community.

14.01.2022 While I would like to keep advising my clients to still go out and drive, the directive from all sides of government and health is stay at home unless it is essential. A mother of one of my clients called the local police today to seek their guidance on practice driving, and while they agreed that you are isolated in the car with no contact with the rest of the community, that would change if you unfortunately had a crash that now requires you to interact with the other party to exchange details. So for now, stay at home. Your learning may take a backward step, but given the risks to you and the broader community, it’s worth it.

11.01.2022 Important info for those conducting transactions with Service NSW

11.01.2022 The peak association in NSW is advising all driving schools to shut down and cease conducting lessons.

09.01.2022 As we expected, all driving tests conducted by Service SNW have been suspended for 2 months, It may end up being longer depending on how this crisis develops. It will be very disappointing to many who were either booked in for their test or were planning on going for it soon but maybe look at this way. If you did get your licence, where are you going to drive to? With most businesses and services shutting down, and all of us being encouraged to stay home, no point in going out anyway. Stay safe everyone. https://www.service.nsw.gov.au//driver-testing-and-covid-19

05.01.2022 This is important information for all driving schools and their clients. Keep safe everyone.

04.01.2022 To all our valued customers, I would like to update you on lesson delivery. Whilst we were aiming to re-open at the end of July, the continuing worrying number of cases in NSW has meant a rethink of that, and for now, lessons will continue to be suspended. Whilst we appreciate many driving schools are still operating and delivering lessons, we have had to make the hard choice to stay closed for now to ensure the safety of our clients, our families, ourselves, and the community at large. It is not ideal, but nothing about the last 6 months has been. When we are opening back up, we will update our status. Thank you for your patience.

01.01.2022 Due to the ever increasing risk posed by COVID 19, it is with regret that I have made the decision to cease all driving lessons indefinitely effective at the close of business today, 25/3/2020. In the best interests of protecting my clients, my family and the community at large, the risk associated with being in close contact with people in a car, has to be weighed up and the decision had to be made. Keep an eye on this page for news about when lessons will recommence.
