25.01.2022 PHONE AND INTERNET ISSUES For reasons that Telstra have been unable to explain, we are having problems with our phone lines and internet connection. We are trying to get this sorted......I would have thought that it was a pretty simple exercise to have a reliable phone line and internet connection these days but apparently not??? Apologies for any inconvenience to our valued patients but we are doing (and have been doing) everything we can to get this sorted. But unfortunat...ely we have to rely on Telstra to step up and provide a reliable service. In Telstra's own words: "Telstra: Our purpose So we're committed to staying close to our customers and providing them with the best experience. And delivering the best tech. On the best network. Because our purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive." Hey Telstra, we just want a phone service and internet connection!



24.01.2022 Dental treatment is not everyone's idea of a good time. And yesterday I (Wayne) was on the other side of the event.....I had a filling done. It was interesting feeling the effects of local anesthesia, holding my mouth open, having rubber dam on and hearing the high speed in MY mouth. All in all it was no great drama for me even though the numbness made me feel weird when I was trying to talk afterwards. Best part of it was being a dental patient though, and experiencing first hand the local anesthetic, trying to swallow with my mouth open, noticing that the high speed turbine sounded different, confirming that the low speed really did rumble and that a high filling did feel really high. Next time I'll try root canal treatment

23.01.2022 Dentistry in the COVID-19 era. We are back providing a wide range of dental services, with just a few modifications.....all aimed at preventing the spread of the virus. Social distancing....less chairs in our reception area and we are booking appointments to reduce the number of people at the practice at any one time.... Asking patients to either come alone or with a minimum number of others. Having anyone with a fever, cough, sore throat or any possible contact with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 sufferer to reappoint. On arrival patients use our hand sanitizer, have their temperature taken and are taken through a COVID-19 checklist. All of our staff have their temperature taken each day, and will be sent home if above 37.5 degrees centigrade. In the operatory we have our patients wash their hands with a liquid hand wash and water, and then have a pre-operative mouth rinse. PLUS we continue to implement all of the recommended routine infection control measures that we have had in place for many years. So our apologies for all the extra bits and pieces we ask of you but obviously this is for everyone's benefit.

23.01.2022 Update on our phone and internet problems We are doing our best to get things operational. I sincerely hope it gets better than this.



22.01.2022 Are we back? Short answer is yes, no and maybe. At present general dental practices are severely restricted as to what services we can offer....essentially emergency treatment only. Recommendations have been made to move Level 3 restrictions to Level 2 next week.....these are recommendations at this stage but it does seem likely that we will be back to Level 2 in late April.... It's a strange transition as we "think" it will be Level 2 by the 28th of April or so, but as yet it's not set in stone. And we will still be somewhat restricted in what we can do. We will keep you posted.

17.01.2022 EASING OF RESTRICTIONS ON DENTAL SERVICES As of 14/05/2020 restrictions on the provision of dental services in South Australia have been eased from Level 2 to Level 1. What does this mean??... The introduction of Level 1 service restrictions means our practice will be able to extend services to all routine dental treatments including those involving high-speed and surgical handpieces. Clients will continue to be screened for risk, and triaged according to their dental needs and appointment times are being adjusted to ensure safety measures such as social distancing can be followed. We may not be back to normal, but we are heading toward the new normal in how dental services are provided. This means we will continue to screen all patients with regard to international travel, contact with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 sufferers, and any flu like symptoms, shortness of breath, sore throat, cough or elevated temperature. We will also institute other measures: Discouraging extra people at reception. Encouraging patients to come alone where possible. Hand sanitiser on arrival. Washing hands with soap and water in the operatory. Pre-treatment mouth rinses. More routine use of rubber dam. And anything else suggested by health authorities over time. So we are back ready, willing and able to provide dental care to our valued patients. It’s been a strange year, and we will endeavour to get back to something approaching business as usual.

17.01.2022 Level 5 Restrictions on Dental Treatment We have been advised that as from 12.01am Thursday 19 November dental practices in South Australia are operating under level 5 restrictions. Essentially this means that we can’t provide anything near routine dental treatment. All we can do is triage patients and refer for management of severe dental or facial injury. As soon as we are able to resume normal business we most surely will.

14.01.2022 Well, that was weird. Our 6 day lockdown lasted 3 days. And after having level 5 restrictions mandated on SA dental practices for 3 days we are back to business as usual. But business as usual still means screening patients for COVID symptoms (elevated temperature, dry cough, tiredness, loss of taste & smell, sore throat) and international or national travel. ...

11.01.2022 Dentistry is now operating at Level 2 restrictions. This means we are able to provide a greater range of treatment to our patients. It’s not business as usual and we have adopted some additional measures to protect staff and patients. COVID-19 continues to effect us all, but we are looking forward to a more normal life later in the year with restaurants, shops and hotels open again. And when social isolating and wearing masks in public is a distant memory. ... Stay safe.
