14.01.2022 PUBLIC LIBRARIES SA LIFE MEMBER Copper Coast Council Library & Tourism Coordinator Lynn Spurling earnt the prestigious honour of life membership with Public L...ibraries SA (PLSA) this week Lynn is now one of four life members after serving Copper Coast's libraries for more than 35 years since starting as the Chief Librarian Joining PLSA as a regional representative in 2005, Lynn served on the committee until November 2019, including a two-year stint as Vice President (2011 & 2012) and seven years as president (2013 to 2019) As part of her presidential duties, Lynn also represented the South Australia on the Australian Public Library Alliance (APLA) National Committee There are plenty more achievements to list, including the numerous programs and initiatives Lynn has headed across all Copper Coast Libraries, but words cannot describe how thankful the Copper Coast Council and our community are for her continued efforts to serve this community Thank you, Lynn, for all the hard work you do behind the scenes to make sure our libraries offer the public all the services they need and continuing to push for tourists to Visit Copper Coast

08.01.2022 PINK WEEK The designated areas for the Mini Fields of Women are in place across the Copper Coastsimply look for the pink flagged off areas in Kadina (Vic...toria Square), Wallaroo (Crn of Wildman ST and John TCE) and Moonta (Queen Square) If you'd like to hire a Pink lady (gold coin donation) and add to the field, they're available at the Kadina Council Office, Moonta Art Gallery and in the libraries of Moonta, Wallaroo and Kadina BRAdina is also underway and we're looking for more bras and donations to grow the 85 metre bra fence along Port Road, Kadina, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Kadina Statewide Cinema are also accepting bra donations) These initiatives help raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (https://sforce.co/3mWCpQy) and the McGrath Foundation (https://bit.ly/3kWIw5o) as breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia C'mon Copper Coast! Together, we can create a sea of pink across the community!

04.01.2022 COUNCIL’S COVID-19 RESPONSE : Due to the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Stay at Home) Dire...ction 2020 enforced at 12.01am today, the Copper Coast Council is required to only continue essential necessary services over this initial six-day period. The following services will cease for the next six days: Copper Coast Sport and Leisure Centre All Libraries Copper Coast Visitor Information Centre Copper Coast Putt Putt, The Farm Shed Museum and Play Café Community Halls Roadworks, parks and gardens and general maintenance (unless there are safety issues to the public) The following services will continue over the next six days as they are considered essential services: Waste collection services Community wastewater management scheme maintenance Planning and Building Approvals Public toilets Playgrounds will not be cordoned off, however, no travel or outdoor exercise is allowed for this under the Stay at Home direction. Many members of our staff will be working from home, but will still be trying their best to provide services to our community. We would ask you please to be patient. As a community and a State, we are all in this together! So please abide by the Directives and stay safe as we all try to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
