21.01.2022 Moonta Mines National Heritage Precinct is up and running and a Covid-19 Safe Accredited Organisation. Come and enjoy a ride on their Moonta Mines Tourist Train, visit their Moonta Mines Museum. Their Sweet Shop will have the Lions Donut Van there to entertain and feed you to add to your visit to this very popular little shop.... Ian Archibald who is a very talented photographer (and train driver) has put together a photographic collection of Old Meets New depicting the Moonta Mines National Heritage Listed Precinct. This exhibition is at the Moonta Tourist Office (old Railway Station). Photos are available for sale.(see a taste of the exhibition included in photos below) They also have lots of Lucky Dips perfect for that Kris Kringle Christmas Present. Their Moonta History Centre in Ellen Street, has a very informative display of Moonta Lands Titles and Mortgages particularly focusing on people or companies that borrowed from the Hamley Lodge. The Moonta Open Gardens are also featuring their Miner’s Cottage and Heritage Garden tickets are $10 and available for purchase from the Moonta Tourist Office and other venues. A must do over this long weekend.
