25.01.2022 Repost from our family @myceliumstudios and words by @mee_sea During this important week, Naidoc 2020, Mycelium Studios wishes to thank our First Nations Brothers and Sisters. We pay our deep respects to the Traditional Owners of the land upon which we stand, Wurundjeri Country and to the Traditional Owners of all of the countries that spread across this beautiful island nation that many more of us now call home. We thank you with deep respect and ac...knowledgment of the pain and suffering that you have endured. We acknowledge all you have had to fight for and continue to fight for. The daily struggles you continue to experience from the ongoing and deeply traumatic effects of colonisation. Thank you for your awe-inspiring resilience and for not giving up in the face of such adversity. Thank you for continuing to connect with your beautiful, ancient, living culture. To all the ancestors of this land, thank you for taking care of country and culture since time immemorial. We strive to continue to hear your voices as we walk these lands. We bow down in heartfelt gratitude for the gifts First Nations people continue to offer this nation. We hope that in our lifetime, and the lifetimes of our children and our children’s children, our country can truly reconcile with its black history, to acknowledge with open eyes the deep pain that runs through the shadows of this country’s violent past and to celebrate the incredible spirit, power and contributions of our First Nations people. Always Was, Always Will Be. Mycelium wishes to highlight the incredible achievements of First Nations designers in this years @thedesignfiles @laminexau Awards. We invite you to read this beautiful article by Ngugi artist, Elisa Carmichael - link in our bio. -Shown here, finalist in the lighting category; Ngalya/Together lighting collaboration between @koskela_ and Bula’Bula Arts, Durrmu Arts, Milingimbi Art and Culture, Moa Arts, Ngarrindjeri Weavers, and Tjanpi Desert Weavers
