25.01.2022 #feelingblue. Newly settled yellow belly damsel (Chrysiptera hemicyanea) alongside a younger larvae. Really want to keep chipping away at these and make aquacultured damsels worthwhile. These are a royal pain to breed but watching them turn blue like this overnight is simply amazing!

09.01.2022 Blood, Sweat, Tears, & Blood Shrimp Success! I finally did it!!! My first captive bred blood shrimp. Arguably one of the most difficult shrimp to raise, took 79 days to settle and required a heap more time and money to get to this stage. I still remember as a teenager waiting outside my LFS for their order to arrive which had my first pair of blood shrimp and costed my entire weeks pay. People thought I was crazy but I would do it all over again. Dave (Deer Park) will soon have this one on display for show. Please consider supporting the little guys in the hobby, they too can make a difference. And Love all things aquacultured!

05.01.2022 Another batch of live copepods have made their way to Uni Hill Aquarium.

05.01.2022 A larval Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) at 40 days post hatch (DPH). I am possibly not even half way through their larval phase but im still excited about this .

04.01.2022 Feeding time . Captive raised pep shrimp grown to adult size using Vitalis.

03.01.2022 Made in Australia . Captive bred Chrysiptera hemicyanea (commonly known as the Azure or Kupang Damsel). After nine failed runs, one lone survivor metamorphosised from a larva to juvenile fish at 32 days post hatch.

02.01.2022 Really excited to announce a successful captive breeding attempt of yellow coral gobies (Gobiodon okinawae). As far as I know this is a species first here in Australia. Larvae are quite difficult to rear as they start out less than 2mm in length. It took a lot of work to get to this stage but hopefully it leads somewhere good. Huge thanks for all the support and much needed encouragement along the way!!

01.01.2022 Newly settled captive bred lysmata species (peppermint shrimp). Some pics here show the larval development which took 41 days before 1st settlement.
