23.01.2022 Amino & Gro Why dose Coral Power Amino & Gro? Corals in the wild feed constantly from the water column and when you put a coral in an aquarium environment it becomes problematic to deliver the type and volumes of food that corals really need to thrive. ... Feeding the amounts of food that corals would get in the wild generally results in high nutrients and polluted water in your home reef system due to the other components of food particles that corals don’t absorb and end up breaking down into waste. Coral Essentials Coral Power Amino & Gro supplements have been formulated using many of the essential amino acid proteins and vitamins that corals uptake normally but in a highly concentrated liquid form that corals can absorb directly through their tissue from the water column. The Coral Power Amino is best dosed before the lights turn on, or early in the photo period, this is because amino acids are generally taken up by corals during the day and stored for use at night. Coral Power Gro is best dosed at night or when the lights turn off. This is because the corals need the vitamins in Gro to use the stored Aminos for growth in the night time period. Splitting the dosage of the two products into day & night isn’t entirely necessary but it’s one way you can benefit from the things we learn on the Sustainable Reefs coral farm, where the Coral Essentials products are developed. Professional results for you at home. If you decide to begin dosing the Amino & Gro, we recommend starting on a half dose and working up to a full dose over a couple of weeks. There is no need to soak coral food in these products or attempt to direct/target/spot feed them to corals. Corals are best left to absorb these products from the water column. Happy Reefing.

04.01.2022 Water parameters Here are some ranges & target values that we use and recommend on our testing facility, Sustainable Reefs. As much as it’s nice to have perfect values, don’t try too hard to chase numbers. If a certain parameter is always sitting at a certain value while your dosing regime always seems to need adjusting then see if you can relax a little and let the aquarium level out to where it wants to be. ... Every aquarium is different and after tuning into your system and enjoying the hobby for what it’s meant to be... enjoyable you will see your system balance itself as long you don’t make changes. So just in case you wanted to know, here are some ranges and target values that we use on the coral farm where all of our products are developed and tested. We will share more values in the future but just these for now. Primary elements: Calcium- Range: 400ppm - 450ppm Target value: 420ppm Magnesium- Range: 1290ppm - 1350ppm Target value: 1320ppm Carbonate/Alkalinity- Range: 6.8dKH/121ppm - 8.8dKH/157ppm Target Value: 7.8dKH/139ppm *If you use a specific brand of salt then use their calcium, carbonate/alkalinity & magnesium value to make your life easier. Providing their mixture stays the same, your alkalinity & other key parameters will be more stable during partial water changes. _____________________________________ Major trace elements: Potassium- Range: 380ppm - 420ppm Target value: 400ppm Bromide- Range: 62ppm - 72ppm Target value: 68ppm Boron- Range: 4ppm - 8ppm Target value: 6ppm Iodine- Range: 0.02ppm - 0.07ppm Target value: 0.04ppm *Pro Tip!
