25.01.2022 This Saturday in Camperdown at Mockridge Park is our come & try session. Ages 5-9 start at 10am Ages 10+ 10.45am 1/2 hour session for each group. Please put your name in comments if you have not already indicated your interest. To stay Covid Safe we ask that you follow a few basic rules:... - one parent only, no siblings - we encourage use of masks for those not playing - please stay at home if you are unwell - use the sanitiser available - social distancing for those not playing - we will collect contact details of all adults attending - rego forms will be available on the day. No need for hockey Vic rego this week - there will be other simple rules that we will ask you to follow on the day - check this page for updates as this is where we will announce changes should they occur Thanks and keep safe. 25.01.2022 After a lot of talks Friday night will be the first game for the U/14 Lakers. This year we will have 2 teams playing as it is 9 a side games. 4 x 12 minute quarters. Corangamite Lakers & Corangamite Blue. ... Game Times are 5 & 6.30 Friday nights. This week as we only have 1 team playing @6.30 we will just rotate everyone who can make it as it is quite short notice. We will put more information up later in day regards to Covid procedures in place at Hockey field.

25.01.2022 Just a reminder that all kids need to be registered with Hockey Victoria before taking the playing surface for training or playing. Or unfortunately the club incurs a financial sanction per player & forfeit of game.

22.01.2022 All juniors playing hockey will need to be registered with Hockey Victoria before being able to take the field. Just need to log into Hockey Victoria webpage n follow the links thru selecting Corangamite as your club, this then will inform the club of registered players. Please ask if you require any help in getting thru the process.

22.01.2022 Friday night seen the 1st game between the U/14 Corangamite Lakers & Corangamite Blue. With selectors watching on hoping that the teams were evenly matched, it showed that both teams are going to perform well this season. Blue got the early touch & scored first thru Angus Murfitt. From them on the ball kept moving from end to end with no scoring happening. By half time it was still at 1 - 0 Blue. Shortly into the 3rd Lily Maskell flicked one thru to even the scores for the Lakers. The scores stayed locked at 1 all to finish the game. A great feature was the promising performances of the younger players. With many still in primary school & have many more years of junior hockey left to play

20.01.2022 From those involved with junior training in Warrnambool this is from Sharyn: Due to the wild weather that Warrnambool and surrounding areas is currently experiencing I have chosen to cancel tonight’s junior training, sorry for the disappointment guys and gals, your safety is my first priority. 17.01.2022 It is with some regret that the Corangamite Hockey Association has made the decision to cancel the commencement of the 2020 Hockey Season, which was scheduled for this Saturday the 8th of August. This follows the announcement by the Premier yesterday, for rural Victoria to return to Stage 3 lockdown and Metropolitan Melbourne to enter Stage 4 lockdown. I am sure we are all aware of the importance of the Premiers decision in stopping the spread of Covid-19, and as rural reside...nts of Victoria in keeping the virus from entering our small communities, as such we as a Committee support this decision by the Premier. At this stage, we have optimism of running a small season and hope that when restrictions ease and the threat of the virus abates, that we may be able to commence a season, allowing for your children to return to sporting activities. This of course will all be dependent on the rules and regulations around return to sport, governed by the Department of Health and Human Services. I wish to thank Cath and Adam Jenkins, Will Rundle, Brian and Ann Cunningham, Janell Maskell, Michelle Norton, Melissa Wood, Kylee Bennett, Kylie Spokes and Lauren Rippon for all their work in getting the Under 14 and the Modified Competition programs up and running. I would especially like to thank the two Under 14 teams of children that had been so competitive, adaptive and coachable over the last 3 weeks of hockey, it was thoroughly enjoyable watching you all develop as players in that short time. Thank you to all parents who brought your children along on last Saturday morning for the come and try day, we were really looking forward to the children learning and continuing to play hockey. Everyone please stay safe during these difficult and unprecedented times. I look forward to being in contact with good news again soon. 17.01.2022 We will list the teams in a short while, but just want all parents thoughts on this weeks Corangamite v Corangamite game. With current Covid cases active not far down the road. Do parents wish to go ahead this weeks game and play? or do you want to postpone the game to a few weeks time, maybe a Sunday game? to when hopefully everything has settled down. After a succesful and massive first year for o...ur Hockey Development & High Performance Program, partnered with Hockey Victoria and Westvic Hockey, led by Sport ds and supported by the Victorian Institute of Sport, we are proud to announce applications for our second year and even more supported 2020 - 2021 program are now open. Our 2020 - 2021 program will look to target and support the transition and stability of individuals who have been competitive or shown the potential to be competitive at a regional level within the last 3 years and who are wishing to earn state selection within the future and will also do so for those who have already earned state selection and are wishing to earn the opportunity to represent Australia in the future. The program will operate from October 2020 September 2021 with applications closing Monday the 12th of October. The first session is expected to be the weekend of October the 24th and 25th with the exact day to be determined. 05.01.2022 Good news for Junior Hockey played at Mockridge park on Saturday! We are going to run a modified comp starting 1st August for 6-8 weeks. This will just be for those who have played in the modified comp before. If you are interested, please put your childs name in the comments below and your email address. Once we know numbers, we will send out the forms and details of registration, teams etc.... The cost this year, will just be the Hockey Vic registration cost ($50 for ages 9&10 and $67 for ages 11-18). There will be no club fee. Regarding Hookin2Hockey program, we are working on some options and will keep you updated. In the meantime you may have seen the program the Corangamite Shire are running.

02.01.2022 The game tomorrow night between the 2 Corangamite teams is going ahead 6:30 PM, please remember to register with Hockey Victoria before playing as we dont want any kids to not be able to play. 02.01.2022 The new season of U/14 hockey in Warrnambool starts on Friday April 17th. Games usually start after 5.30. So if you are born from 1st January 2006 for boys & 1st January 2005 for girls you are eligible to play. Please comment below to give a idea of player numbers for season ahead.
